Grab your sparkly shoes, Dorothy, we're heading to Oz with the Cowardly Lion!

The previously teased voice for the grown-up version of the cub Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) save in the first *Wicked* film has been revealed to be none other than Colman Domingo.

The Oscar-nominated actor broke the news in an Instagram post on Monday, days after director Jon M. Chu gushed that he got a celebrity actor to voice the beloved character for the upcoming follow-up to the acclaimed first installment.

The Instagram video begins with a Squishmallow plush of the Cowardly Lion being held up to the camera before it lowers to reveal Domingo, surrounded by other plush dolls. "See you in Oz," the actor tells the camera in that honeyed, mellifluous voice of his with a wink. The clip then cuts to a black screen as the words "Colman Domingo is the Cowardly Lion" appears in gold.

Chu recently told *Deadline* that around the time of the reshoots in March, he got the idea to DM an actor on social media, asking if they would be interested in voicing the Cowardly Lion. The scaredy-cat previously appeared as a baby cub that Elphaba and Fiyero rescue from a ploy to begin rounding up talking animals in Oz and domesticate them before they begin speaking.

"I was like, 'It's not a ton of lines, but maybe you have a little time. I know you're busy. I'll come to you,'' Chu said of his messages. "He was like, 'Why the f--- not, let's go!' And then we went ahead and recorded the lines."

At the time, Chu wanted to keep Domingo's identity a secret, teasing to the outlet, "Man, wait until the red carpet when the actor who gave us the Cowardly Lion's voice steps foot on it. It'll be wild."**

Domingo's Lion will make his adult appearance in *Wicked: For Good* alongside Dorothy, the Tin Man, and Scarecrow as the four are caught up in the epic musical battle of wills and circumstance first mounted by Elphaba and Glinda (Ariana Grande) in the 2024 adaptation of the Broadway musical.**

Fans got a proper look at the foursome in the final chapter for the film released last month. "Bring me the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West," the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) instructs them. "So I have proof that she's dead."

Chu cautioned ** last year that *For Good*, which is adapted from the second act of the Broadway smash, would be emotionally taxing, more so than the first film.

"If Part 1 is about choices, Part 2 is about consequences," he revealed*. *"Choices are difficult to make, but when you do make those choices, sometimes the result isn't what you expect it to be. It can be lonely, it can be hard."

Chu added, "There's a lot of soul searching in movie 2. They're asking, 'Is this the right decision that you made?'"**

*Wicked: For Good* roars (quietly) into theaters Nov. 21.**
