Ahead of Tracker Season 3, it was revealed that the CBS drama would be losing half of its main cast.
Aside from lead Justin Hartley, as Colter Shaw, and his sidekick, Reenie, played by Fiona Rene, there are no other regular cast members following the exit of Eric Graise, who played tech whiz Bobby, and Abby McEnany, who starred as Velma.
Jensen Ackles will return to reprise his guest star role as Colter's brother Russell Shaw.
A reason was not given initially for the two character exits, though EP Elwood Reid later addressed the absence ahead of the premiere episode, explaining that the decision was made to "consolidate and build out Reenie's office a bit more."
Legacies star Chris Lee, who signed on as a fill-in for Bobby during his hiatus on Tracker Season 2, and whose character, Randy, became an instant favorite amongst the fandom, returned to assist Reenie in her office set-up, though Reid emphasized that he was not replacing either Velma or Bobby.

"It's about where I get the most creative juice," he explained of the creative choice, teasing that Randy and Reenie's interactions in season 3 are "so much fun."
Following the premiere episode, Tracker Season 3, titled "The Process," which aired on Oct. 19, we now have additional insight into Velma and Bobby's exits.
What Happened to Bobby on Tracker?
Reid previously revealed that Bobby took on a "good opportunity," with fans getting additional details about the exit during the premiere episode.
Randy informs Reenie that Bobby officially quit his job at the repair shop and is "killing it" in his new role as an encryption specialist in a new startup. "Between the stock options and the salary, he's bringing home the bacon," Randy joked.
"Good for him," Reenie responded.
And honestly, who could blame Bobby for putting Bobby first?
What Happened to Velma on Tracker?
As for Velma, Reenie mentioned early in the episode that she wasn't sure when she was getting back, as she "went to go see Teddi" (Robin Weigert), who exited the series after season 1. "She's trying to save her marriage," she added.
Will Fans See Bobby and Velma Again in the Future?
Never say never, according to Reid, who admitted the door was left open for both characters, adding, "That doesn't mean these people can't come back."
