Savannah Guthrie is reflecting on one of her most embarrassing moments on the *Today* show. **

The 53-year-old anchor was asked to share her biggest on-air faux pas as part of a conversation with *Watch What Happens Live *host Andy Cohen and her fellow *Today* cohosts Carson Daly and Craig Melvin on Monday's episode. **

"I asked Khloé Kardashian, like, 10 seconds before we were going to break about the rumors that her father wasn't her father," Guthrie explained, referring to her 2012 interview with the *Keeping Up With the Kardashians *star in which the interviewer pressed Kardashian about speculation that she wasn't really related to the late Robert Kardashian.

Even Cohen agreed that it wasn't the most thoughtful question. "That was so bad," he said. "That was so bad."

Guthrie confessed that she was "so embarrassed" to have to ask about the rumors at all, but that she was still new at the time and didn't want to rock the boat.

"I felt all this pressure," she admitted. "I'd just started, and I felt like the producers wanted me to ask this dishy question, but I didn't want to."

So, she tried to hold off asking the question until their interview was nearly over. "At the very end, we were like, 'And Khloé, what about this rumor that Robert Kardashian's not really your father?'" she recalled. "And they were like, '10, nine, eight…' and I was so embarrassed." **

Thankfully, Guthrie explained that Kardashian wasn't fazed by the ask. "She was such a class act. She was like, 'Ah, nothing to it,'" she said. "We made the break. I asked the question. I didn't want to. Khloé was a total class act and a doll."

This isn't the first time that Guthrie has publicly cringed over having to ask the question. She similarly shared the story during a SiriusXM *Today *Show Radio town hall with Cohen and Melvin in February.**

"She saved my butt," Guthrie said of Kardashian at the time.

During their 2012 interview, Guthrie awkwardly posed the question to Kardashian just as an audio cue to wrap the segment began to play.

"Very quickly, speaking of rumors. Actually, I think we're out of time," she said in response to the music. "I was gonna ask: nothing more to say about what people said about who your father, your biological father?"

To which a laughing Kardashian responded, "I don't know who my daddy is, I guess! I don't know."

*Today* airs weekdays on NBC. Watch Guthrie reflect on the moment in the video above.
