While Goldie Hawn has a big birthday coming up, her family members plan to keep the celebration "chill."
Speaking to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview, Hawn's son Oliver Hudson noted that his mom will turn 80 on November 21.
Hudson, 49, will soon star alongside Alicia Silverstone in the Netflix holiday rom-com A Merry Little Ex-Mas, about a separated couple who choose to spend the holidays together for the sake of the their children.
Speaking about the film, Hudson said the holiday season is "the best time of year" for his family, adding: "We've got Thanksgiving coming up. We have November 21st coming up, which I say I'm most looking forward to because of my mom's 80th birthday."
Asked about the family's plans to celebrate the special day, Hudson said, "We're going to keep it pretty chill because that's what she wants."

"I mean, trust me, I brought up everything like, 'Should we go to India?' And she just wants to keep it cool so we're just going to keep it very, very family," he adds. "And Thanksgiving, and then of course the holidays, Christmas, that's where we all get together throughout the year — tight, tight family."
Still, Hudson noted that with all his family members' various projects, time together can be hard to organize.
"Wyatt's doing this over here. I'm over here, Kate's working here, so we're always scattered and doing our thing and this is the three weeks where we are all together," he said of he and his siblings, including brother Wyatt Russell and sister Kate Hudson.
Hudson added: "It's the most special time of the year for sure."
Goldie, Oliver, Kate and Kurt Russell (Goldie's longtime partner who helped raise her children) were all pictured together recently at the 2025 Will Rogers Pioneer of the Year Dinner.

Hudson's latest film is also a family affair, with his 18-year-old son Wilder making his movie debut in A Merry Little Ex-Mas.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Hudson explained how Wilder "had never done anything before" and "had just finished an acting class outside of school" when he got the part of Gabriel, the son of Oliver's Everett in the Netflix rom-com.
In a scene near the end of A Merry Little Ex-Mas, Wilder's Gabriel delivers an emotional monologue. Oliver says, "He was really nervous about it, because it was a big speech."
"I'm sitting there listening in the movie, and after his first take, I, for the first time, just started crying. Because I couldn't believe that this was my son," he says of Wilder. "I stepped out of myself a little bit, and I'm like, 'This is my son who is doing great and who has never done this before. He's just going head first into the fire, and he's in my world now, and I'm just so proud of him.' "
A Merry Little Ex-Mas hits Netflix on Nov. 12.
