Was pop stardom always in the cards for Kylie Jenner?
The Kylie Cosmetics founder recently ventured into music for the first time, laying down vocals for "Fourth Strike," a collaboration with Los Angeles duo Terror Jr. released earlier this week — with Jenner credited as King Kylie. She opened up about the creative process behind the song in a new Q&A video shared to YouTube on Thursday, Oct. 16.
"Well, you know, this is, like, my dream," said Jenner. "I've been talking about this since I came out of the womb. I, like, wanted to be a pop star — or, I don't know what I am. But I just, like, never had the confidence."

The Kardashians star explained her age factored into the decision. "I think turning 28 just does something to you," she said. "I'm gonna be 30 soon, and I just don't want to look back on life and have any regrets, and this is something I've always wanted to try."
However, Jenner clarified, "I don't think I'm like Adele or anything."
"I always wanted to try to see if I can do it. The first recording session I was really nervous. I had, like three margaritas — or vodka sodas, actually," she detailed.
Jenner started working on the Terror Jr. collaboration over "four or five hours" in an RV studio set up in her driveway and "had the best night" before going to a "real studio," which was important to her.
"I feel like I needed that experience, which was also really fun," she said. "I mean, we took a lot of time working on this song."
The mogul felt "comfortable" with her team of collaborators and explained, "I was really nervous, but after, I think, I heard the first line, I was like, 'Wow, I sound like an angel.'"
So, will Jenner release more music in the future? "I hope so. I would love to try," she teased.
"That was so much fun. I don't want it to end. And I think, why not? I think we should try. Let's like, make an album," she continued. "And if we're not feeling it, we'll just listen to it ourselves."
"Fourth Strike" also serves as promotion for the return of Jenner's "King Kylie" persona, which is coming back with a new inspired Kylie Cosmetics makeup collection hitting the market on Saturday, Oct. 18.
