Things are heating up between the Survivor 49 cast members — and we're not talking about the temperature. The wear and tear of 10 days in the game is making tempers flair, as old Uli members across multiple tribes are contemplating turning on one another. And it came to a head at Tribal Council, where the majority faced the possibility to make the first big move of the season.Check out spoilers about tonight's episode below and find out who was voted out.

Who was voted off on Survivor 49 tonight?

Jason Treul is one of those rare Survivor players whose game started much more climactically than it ended. Originally the male alternate for Season 49, he was informed only 12 hours before the game started that he would now be given the chance to play. Luckily, he got some time to settle into the suddenness of the situation, as Hina enjoyed the comfort of a winning streak without much need to strategize. Unfortunately, while his original tribe kept him safe the first week in the game, it was what ultimately doomed him in the end. Jason stayed on Hina beach at the swap, but was surrounded by a vast majority of new faces around him. He was spared at his first Tribal Council in lieu of his fellow Hina Matt Williams. But when they lost yet again, it was an easy "game over" situation for the former Super Smash Bros. player.

Were any advantages found or played on Survivor 49 tonight?
No! Though both Nate Moore and MC Chukwujekwu were given the opportunity to get one on this week's journey. While the two were tasked with moving nearly 100 heavy sandbags in an allotted time, they were eventually given the temptation to go into the jungle to search for an advantage. If someone found it, then the other person had to complete the rest of the challenge by themselves. Knowing there was little to no chance of him getting an advantage, Nate astutely convinced MC to hold off on looking until they were nearly done with the sandbags. Once they did so, he lied to her about the time limit to get her to stop searching, at which point she gave up and decided to help him finish so they would both still have their votes.
From "namaste" to "gotta go"
Sage Ahrens-Nichols and Shannon Fairweather started the game as kindred spirits, connecting over their quirky personalities and even calling each other "soul sisters." But a change in buff color completely changed that mindset. The two were put in a tough position, the only former Uli on the outs of the majority. And Sage noticed how Savannah was perhaps playing up some part of her personality to get in good with all the new faces on the beach.
The kindling of the grudge turned into a roaring flame this week. Shannon used her downtime to begin gaming hard, approaching multiple people about a cross-tribe alliance. Simultaneously, she said she was willing to get rid of Sage if need be. Sage groused about the fact that seemingly nobody noticed how artificial and scheming Shannon was except for her. But she was elated to find that people were indeed catching on to the fact that she was doing too much too early. Sage's growing resentment of Shannon provided some particularly comedic content, especially when she rolled her eyes behind her back during a hug.
