The former professional tennis players celebrated 24 years of marriage on Oct. 22. They have more than earned power couple status, with a combined eight Wimbledon singles titles and over two decades of sharing their love.

Agassi, 55, and Graf, 56, tied the knot with a private ceremony and exchanged vows in their Las Vegas home's backyard "barefoot and wearing jeans," as recounted in his 2009 memoir Open.

In an Instagram post, Agassi celebrated their milestone, writing "24 years with this wonderful women ❤️ Happy Anniversary Steffi, you are my unicorn!"

Their athletic love story technically began right where you would expect it for tennis greats: Wimbledon.

However, Agassi, who was previously married to Brooke Shields for two years, had his eyes on Graf, who won 22 Grand Slam titles during her tennis career, long before they met.

"I've had a crush on Steffi since I first saw her doing an interview on French TV," he wrote in Open. "I was thunderstruck, dazzled by her understated grace, her effortless beauty."

In 1992, he won his first Grand Slam title, and she took home the ladies' singles tennis title, which excited Agassi for a few notable reasons. He was "dying to go" to the Wimbledon Ball, as he knew the men's winner got to dance with the women's winner.

Unfortunately, the traditional event was cancelled, but the "consolation prize," he wrote in his book, was a formal introduction.

Agassi then began courting Graf right off the court.

Their coaches set them up for a practice in Key Biscayne, Fla., when Agassi's 1999 divorce with Shields was in the works. After playing, Graf discovered a bouquet of roses along with a letter from Agassi in her hotel room.

"We had a brief conversation after that where I kind of said that I've got a boyfriend and, you know, all I know is that he's married," Graf shared in an interview with Vijay Amritraj. A few weeks later she caught wind of the divorce, and they began dating soon after.

It was a whirlwind romance from there. They got married in 2001 before the birth of their son, Jaden, 23, who played baseball for University of Southern California. In 2003, they welcomed daughter Jaz, 22, who reposted her father's anniversary photos on her Instagram Stories.

These days, the Hall of Famers are swapping their rackets for paddles.

In March, they shared with PEOPLE that their newest hobby is playing pickleball together, which they picked up during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Andre still plays tennis, but I don't much anymore," Graf told PEOPLE at the "Grand Slam Weekend" in Palm Beach in March.

Agassi chimed in, noting that they enjoy the sport because it's "community driven." Playing pickleball has introduced them to new friends and given them the opportunity to work as a team.

"We don't play each other," Graf told PEOPLE. "We prefer to be on the same side of the court."
