It's Tyler Shough time in New Orleans.
After nearly three quarters produced just three points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Saints coach Kellen Moore had seen enough of quarterback Spencer Rattler. He sent Rattler to the bench late in the third quarter Sunday as Tampa Bay held a 17-3 lead.
Shough took over for his first substantial live NFL action in a regular-season game.
The Saints selected Shough in the second round of April's NFL Draft out of Louisville. But he didn't beat out Rattler for the job in the preseason.
With Rattler at quarterback, the Saints entered Sunday with a 1-6 record, armed with an offense that ranks 25th in the NFL. So with little left to lose, they've turned to Shough to see what he can do.
