Vanderbilt is staying in the top 10 for another week. Barely.
The No. 10 Commodores took down No. 15 Missouri 17-10 thanks to a 2-yard touchdown run by Diego Pavia with 1:52 to go. Vanderbilt (7-1) entered the week ranked in the top 10 of the AP Top 25 for the first time since 1947.

Missouri (6-2) had plenty of time to try to get a touchdown to potentially win the game with a two-point conversion or tie it with an extra point. And the Tigers almost did.
Matt Zollers completed a pass to Kevin Coleman Jr., but Coleman was just short of the goal line when he got possession as time expired. Just look at how close this was.

Pavia scored after the Tigers turned the ball over with 7:02 remaining on a botched option handoff between RB Jamal Roberts and Zollers.

Zollers, a true freshman, was in the game after starting QB Beau Pribula suffered a significant lower left leg injury in the third quarter. Pribula's left ankle bent awkwardly as he was pushed back on a fourth-down play near the goal line and training staff immediately put an air cast on his leg before he was carted off the field to a waiting wheelchair.

Zollers, who missed much of his senior season of high school football because of a broken ankle, began the season as Mizzou's No. 3 QB. But backup QB Sam Horn suffered a season-ending leg injury on his first play of the game in the Tigers' season-opener.
He could be the Tigers' starter for the foreseeable future, as Pribula returned to the sideline late in the second half with crutches and a boot on his left foot. Zollers finished the game 14-of-23 passing for 138 yards and a TD.
Pavia, meanwhile, continues to make plays whenever the Commodores need them. And he's going to continue to play a factor in the Heisman race as long as Vanderbilt is a contender in the SEC.
Pavia didn't have his best game on Saturday. He was just 10-of-19 passing for 129 yards and an interception off a pass that was deflected at the line of scrimmage. And he rushed for just 20 yards before kneeling out the clock at the end of the game.
However, he's the central figure of an offense that's been one of the most efficient in college football as the Commodores continue to make a playoff push.
Vanderbilt now has a viable path to the playoff and a 10-2 season. The Commodores head to Texas next week before games at home against Auburn and Kentucky and a trip to Tennessee to end the season. If Vanderbilt goes 3-1 over its last four games, it'll be hard for them to be left out of the playoff.
Missouri also still has a playoff shot, but the Tigers will need to go 4-0 against a schedule that includes No. 3 Texas A&M and a visit to Oklahoma while possibly starting a true freshman quarterback.
