Bill Mumy paid tribute to his TV mom, June Lockhart, following her death at age 100. The legendary actress died on October 23 at her home in Santa Monica, CA. Lockhart co-starred with Mumy in the 1960s television series Lost in Space.
In a post to his Instagram page on Oct. 25, Mumy, 71, shared a still of him and Lockhart from a Lost in Space episode. He also shared a later photo from a Lost in Space reunion.
"Goodbye to the brilliant June Lockhart," he captioned the post. " A one-of-a-kind, talented, nurturing, adventurous, and noncompromising Lady. She did it her way. June will always be one of my very favorite moms. 100 years here. Wow! R.I.P. 👍🏼✌️❤️🙏🏻."
Lockhart played biochemist Dr. Maureen Robinson, and Mumy played her son, Will, on the CBS sci-fi series from 1965 to 1968. Lockhart was also known for her roles in the classic TV shows Lassie and Petticoat Junction.

In June, Mumy honored Lockhart when she turned 100 years old. In the caption to a series of photos posted to Instagram on June 25, the former child star wrote, "Happy 100th Birthday to the Mighty JUNE LOCKHART today!! What a gal! She is truly special! Onward. "
Mumy later shared more photos from Lost in Space as he began the countdown for Lockhart's next birthday. "Staying in June memory mode as the adventure of her 101st year gets started!" he wrote.
In June, Mumy told Remind magazine that he received updates on Lockhart from her family more than 60 years after they first worked together. "I talk to her through her daughter," he told the outlet. "June is at home. She has two assistants. She's still in her own home. She follows the politics, she reads the news, but she doesn't talk on the phone, and she doesn't — obviously — she's not going to put on all her makeup and go out and do a convention or anything anymore, but she's, well, she's fine. She's healthy."
Mumy also shared a surprising fact about Lockhart in a video interview. "She was enamored with David Bowie. And she is a real rock and roller at heart," he once said of the beloved actress.
"The image of June Lockhart from Lassie and Lost in Space and Petticoat Junction and General Hospital, all these things, is kind of this conservative, matronly… but in reality, June, who's like genius level brilliant, she's a rock 'n' roll gal," he said. "She loves rock and roll music, and she loves rock and roll bad boys."
