Dave Franco was recently named "Sexiest Cat Dad" in People's 2025 Sexiest Man Alive Readers' Choice Poll—but fellow cat dads Bobby Flay and Machine Gun Kelly are speaking out.
On Oct. 23, Jimmy Fallon announced Franco's win on The Tonight Show over fellow nominees Mark Ruffalo, Kumail Nanjiani and Myles Turner. The Regretting You actor, 40, is the proud owner of two cats, Otis and Max.

"I feel like I have been silently campaigning for this my whole life," Franco joked. "I never realized how rare it was for a man to be obsessed with his cats until every journalist brought it up in every interview I've ever done."
He continued, "I, of course, have to thank Max and Otis. You guys—as if they're watching—make me laugh more than anyone on Earth. I gotta give a shout-out to my old cats, Harry and Arturo."
As Fallon's band started playing him off, Franco shouted, "This is my moment!" before laughing.

In the comments, Flay—who currently has two cats, Stella and Canelo, after his beloved feline, Nacho, died in 2023—lamented Franco's win, declaring, "I'm literally devastated."
One Instagram user responded, "@bobbyflay We see you. The OG cat daddy (RIP sweet Nacho)."
Another user echoed, "@bobbyflay you're the sexiest cat dad in MY heart 💕."

Meanwhile, MGK—a cat parent of three, Whiskey, Tickets and Na'avi—also popped into the comments to protest Franco's Sexiest Cat Dad win, writing, "Whoa, I love you Dave, but me and my 3 cats have something to say about this… @people."
