Jim O'Heir and Nick Offerman on 'Parks and Recreation'
After starring together on seven seasons of Parks and Recreation, Nick Offerman and Jim O'Heir recently reunited in an unlikely place: 30,000 feet in the air.
In an Instagram post Friday, O'Heir — who portrayed the bumbling but sweet Jerry Gergich on the beloved NBC sitcom — revealed that he and Offerman ended up on the same flight together, although O'Heir didn't realize until his buddy pranked him.
"I didn't know that until we were about to land and [Offerman] got on the speaker and started talking about Jerry, Gary, Larry and Terry Gergich," O'Heir wrote. "The flight attendants were also in on it. It was awesome."
Offerman memorably played the gruff but endearing Ron Swanson on Parks and Rec, while Gary, Larry, and Terry were a few of the other names that Jerry was wrongly called by his colleagues but still answered to over the years.
In a follow-up Instagram post, O'Heir shared video of Offerman at the front of the airplane cabin reading the official spiel about flight attendants coming around to collect trash and passengers' connecting gates, and then adding some of that signature Ron Swanson charm: "As I always say, don't half-ass your safety; only whole-ass."
If O'Heir didn't get the ruse then, he certainly did when Offerman sent a message just for his former castmate on the Amy Poehler-led show.
"If you're headed to areas like Muncie, and your last name is Gergich, first name Jerry, Larry, Barry, or Gary, please behave yourself and travel safely," he said, as the camera cut to O'Heir laughing.

O'Heir commented on the footage, "The video of @nickofferman pranking me on our flight to Indy has surfaced. So great. I love that man."
Both Offerman and O'Heir were part of the Parks and Rec cast from the beginning, starring in an ensemble that also included Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Rashida Jones, Retta, Aziz Ansari, and later Rob Lowe and Adam Scott.

The show followed Poehler's optimistic and determined Leslie Knope, the leader of the local parks department in Pawnee, Ind., and her colorful staff.
The series was nominated for 14 Emmys during its run, and it remains ubiquitous in reruns and on streaming.
