Josh Allen gushed over his wife Hailee Steinfeld in a sit-down interview with ESPN

The Bills quarterback said his wedding day was the "most important day" of his life and called his contract extension and MVP win "kinda just the cherry on top" of his year

Steinfeld is "an unbelievable, undeniable rockstar, in her work, in her life, as a person," Allen said

Hailee Steinfeld has given Josh Allen a new outlook on life.

Almost six months after the Buffalo Bills quarterback and Sinners actress tied the knot, Allen, 29, is reflecting on his new life as a married man and how Steinfeld, 28, has become the most "fulfilling" part of his life.

Before the Bills took on the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 13, a frustrating 24-14 loss for the reigning NFL MVP, ESPN aired Marty Smith's sit-down interview with Allen.

When asked to reflect on the past year of his life — which included getting married, winning MVP and signing a $330 million extension with the Bills — the NFL star called his wedding day to Steinfeld "the most important day of my life" and said "all that other stuff was kinda just the cherry on top" of his year.

Allen was then asked what the "most fulfilling part" of his life is these days.

"Most fulfilling? My wife. My wife is an unbelievable, undeniable rockstar, in her work, in her life as a person," he responded, adding that Steinfeld is "everything I need in my life."

Smith noted that Steinfeld recently revealed how Allen taught her "to slow down" as one of the ways she's grown since being with the Bills star before asking Allen what he's learned from the relationship.

Thoughtfully, Allen replied, "Maybe that I am more than a football player."

"My whole dream as a kid has been to be in this position," he continued, "and I've never thought of anything outside of that or beyond that."

Still with his eyes on the prize, a Super Bowl championship, Allen said he hopes he'll "still get to play this game for a very long time," calling playing "as long as I can" his ultimate goal, and added, "but there is life after it as well."

In a recent interview with Variety, Steinfeld said "understanding what it means to slow down and to share that with someone" is the "greatest thing" about being married to Allen.

"I've never lived this part of life before — outside of my work," she said.
