Who was voted off on Survivor 49 tonight?
'Survivor 49' contestant Kimberly "Annie" DavisRobert Voets/CBSKimberly "Annie" Davis
While Kimberly "Annie" Davis left her "BOSS" necklace at home, the band frontwoman and CEO still carried that forward on the island. The musician always moved to the beat of her own drum, and she continued to do so on the island, something that immediately isolated her socially. After the first couple of days, it was clear she was on the outside looking in. But if you ask Annie herself, she wasn't on the outs, but above it all, the "puppet master" of her tribe. Annie started Episode 2 relishing in the idea of suffering and going to Tribal Council, targeting the tribe's biggest asset Jake Latimer. She was singing a different tune, though, after another demoralizing loss, trying to turn things onto weak link Sophi Balerdi. Despite her number one ally Alex Moore showing her the idol he found, saying he wanted to use it, the DC resident went back on his campaign promise. Annie remarked at Tribal that the only thing you can trust on Survivor is your gut. And unfortunately, she was betrayed by even that, blindsided unanimously.

Were any advantages found or played on Survivor 49 tonight?
Yes! Jawan Pitts won the challenge in the journey this week, giving him a special power (see below). Meanwhile, Alex was able to find the Beware Advantage on his tribe, which would only activate once his tribe lost a challenge. When Kele did so, he found out he had to do a madcap timed mission, dragging a ball and chain through the jungle to unlock the idol before going to Tribal Council. Thanks to getting everyone in his alliance on board, Alex was able to find the box in time, securing the idol for himself.
A brand-new twist brings bad blood
Episode 2 featured a twist on what has become a "new era" staple: The journey. Jake, Jawan and Matt Williams volunteered to go for their tribes. They were then told they would be participating in a challenge, with the winner earning a special reward. Jawan prevailed, and got to choose between two advantages: The ability to steal Jake or Matt's vote, or a disadvantage to put on a tribe at the next challenge. He chose the latter, giving Hina a handicap the next day. However, the yellow tribe prevailed, winning first place.
