Heather Gay -
Heather Gay is starring in a new Bravo three-part series called Surviving Mormonism, where she examines alleged abuse within the Mormon church
Gay has been open about her own experience leaving the religion after more than 40 years
The first episode premieres Nov. 11 on Bravo, and all three parts will drop exclusively on Peacock the following day
Heather Gay is digging into the Mormon religion in her new Bravo limited series.
The network has announced The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star's new project, Surviving Mormonism with Heather Gay, which will air in three parts beginning Tuesday, Nov. 11. According to the press release, each episode will follow Gay, 51, as she "uncovers the dark history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."
"The three-part limited series fractures the church's seemingly perfect veneer to expose the secrets that have been kept behind closed doors," the official synopsis reads. "In each hourlong episode, Heather has impactful conversations with abuse survivors, ex-Mormons and former LDS church leaders."
"As Heather reflects on her own departure from the church, Surviving Mormonism delves into outdated and controversial practices and empowers victims to share their experiences to bring awareness and enact change," the synopsis concludes.

In the emotional trailer, Gay breaks down listening to the stories of those who claim to have been mistreated by the church, leaving her feeling "overwhelmed and horrified."
The first episode, titled "A Bad Mormon," will see Gay set out on her journey to dig into the religion she spent four-and-a-half decades in before leaving in 2019 — the same year Bravo announced the launch of RHOSLC. The premiere features former Mormon David Matheson, "who has been called the godfather of conversion therapy."
"Now out and living as a gay man himself, David details the harmful teachings he once practiced and believed in," per the synopsis.
Episodes two and three will drop on Peacock on Nov. 12. "The Highest Level of Heaven" is the second, where Gay speaks with a former bishop and later hears from an old friend who shares his allegations of abuse with her for the first time. As she "struggles with guilt for turning her back on" him, she begins to realize that "his experience is the tip of the iceberg."
In the finale, Gay meets with sisters who were allegedly abused by their father and claim their "multiple" reports to their bishop and high-ranking church leaders "were consistently ignored." It is in this episode, "Change Is Gonna Come," that the reality star "decides it's time to take action."

Surviving Mormonism with Heather Gay
Gay has been outspoken about her exit from Mormonism over the years. In 2023, she published her bestselling debut memoir Bad Mormon, followed by another, called Good Time Girl, in 2024.
She has also opened up about the ways in which RHOSLC has impacted her life. In an interview with PEOPLE last year, she said the show has "completely changed" her.
"I've unburdened myself from a lot of heavy baggage I'd been carrying for years, from my life before," she admitted. "And it's allowed me to really evolve, not just as a woman, but also as a mother."
She joined the franchise for its debut season in 2019, which came after a decade of distancing herself from the Mormon Church following her 2011 divorce.
"I feel really empowered now," Gay revealed. "When I first started Housewives, feminism and girl power used to make me uncomfortable because I was just from such a deeply patriarchal culture. I feel like, now, I'm totally a feminist."
