To celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary, the Boy Meets World star posted a sweet tribute to his wife on Instagram

Rider Strong is reminiscing about how his marriage has evolved after more than a decade.
The Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World alum, 45, married Alexandra Barreto, 50, on Oct. 20, 2013. In honor of their wedding anniversary on Monday, Oct. 20, Strong posted a sweet tribute on Instagram to his wife of 12 years.
"When you're young and in love, you build a fire on the beach and wait for the stars," he wrote in his caption. "Twelve years later, you build the same fire — and debate how many hot dogs your kid can eat."He continued, "Happy anniversary @barretoalex."

Strong shared two photos of the couple, the first showing them sitting next to each other on a blue patterned towel on a beach at sunset. The couple cozied up closely on what appeared to be a chilly day. Strong wore a navy blue puffer jacket over a hoodie, while Barreto sported a pastel pink beanie and black fingerless gloves.
In the second photo, taken on a different cold beach day just steps away from the ocean, Strong started a fire as Barreto sat nearby holding a package of hot dogs.
From New Zealand to Idaho, Strong and Barreto often share photos online from their outdoor adventures around the world together. Their wedding celebration 12 years ago was even themed around camping — complete with a ropes course, games and a talent show, with the wedding party sleeping in bunks at the Oregon campsite.
The ceremony coincided with Danielle Fishel's nuptials to first husband Tim Belusko, which took place one day before and unfortunately prevented Strong's former costars from attending his wedding.
"I am missing some of my Boy Meets World family," Strong told PEOPLE in a statement before the ceremony.

"That was my fault — [Danielle] chose the date first," he added.

Strong and Barreto met as costars on the short-lived WB series Pepper Dennis in 2006. Nearly a decade later, in December 2015, the couple welcomed their now 9-year-old son, Indigo "Indy."
