Prince William surprised Eugene Levy by showing up at Windsor Castle on an electric scooter
The Prince of Wales, 43, explained his penchant for the method on The Reluctant Traveler
William joked that the scooter works "quite nicely" for getting around the castle grounds
Prince William has found a new way to make an entrance — and it's getting a royal laugh.
In his recent appearance on Apple TV's The Reluctant Traveler, Eugene Levy meets the Prince of Wales, 43, on the grounds of Windsor Castle — and the actor is immediately caught off guard by the royal's mode of transportation.
"This is not what I was expecting," Levy says with a laugh as William pulls up on an electric scooter. "This is your mode of transportation?"
"It is 'round here," William replies, grinning.
Levy, who describes himself as having "a very low threshold for adventure," admits he's never been on one. "It gets around quite nicely around here," William says, encouragingly.
The pair shake hands and share a laugh before Levy takes in his surroundings. "This is your home?" he asks.
"Not in the castle," William clarifies. "We live just outside the castle, but my father spends a lot of time here. We use the castle for work and meetings. And I'm always late, so I thought this was the way to keep my meetings on time."
Then, with his signature dry wit, the royal adds, "I'm still regularly late anyway, Eugene."

Even so, the prince admitted his new wheels aren't foolproof.
"I managed to get myself a puncture this morning," he adds with a smile. "That's why I was going so slowly up the road."
It's not the first time William's scooter has made headlines. In July 2024, it was reported that he invested in the sleek ride to make the 10-minute journey from Adelaide Cottage — where he lives with Kate Middleton and their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — to Windsor Castle more efficient.
"It just makes sense," a source told The Sun at the time. "He whizzes up to the castle when he needs to see the King."

The environmentally minded prince launched The Earthshot Prize in 2020 to champion solutions that combat climate change, and his choice of an electric scooter fits right in with that mission.
William, who has long loved motorcycles, told reporters in 2018 that he had to "tone it down" after becoming a father of three.
As Princess Kate once admitted, "It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it. I'm terrified."
Now, William's scooter may be the perfect compromise — a little adventure, a lot of efficiency and an unmistakably modern royal twist.
