Amazon now offers doorstep return pickups through USPS. What we know.
Amazon is offering doorstep returns in some markets through a new partnership with the United States Postal Service.
Amazon quietly rolled out a partnership with the USPS this summer, offering doorstep return pickup in select markets, according to a statement from the e-commerce giant. As of Tuesday, Oct. 28, the partnership was not outlined in Amazon's return policy.
The partnership, if introduced in more regions, could prove beneficial for the USPS. For years, the federal agency has struggled both financially and logistically and has faced more uncertainty this year as President Donald Trump has proposed privatizing the agency or merging it with the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Despite its troubles — the USPS reported a $1.8 billion controllable expenses loss in 2024 — the agency remains one of the most favored by the general public, taking second only after the National Park Service, according to a 2024 Pew Research Center survey.
As details remain limited, here's what we know about Amazon's new return service, provided by the USPS.
