Greene was accused by Sen. Ted Cruz of becoming "very liberal" after she attacked House Speaker Mike Johnson for his handling of the shutdown

She's continued to be vocal, and has scheduled appearances on both Real Time with Bill Maher and The View

Marjorie Taylor Greene is defending herself against disapproval from within her own party.

The Republican congresswoman, 51, hit back on X after she was met with backlash from some conservatives for booking appearances on both The View and Real Time with Bill Maher. Sen. Ted Cruz also claimed Greene was becoming "very liberal" in response to her remarks about the ongoing government shutdown, which is now on day 30.

The barrage of criticism prompted Greene to lash out on social media, where she maintained that her conservative voting record hasn't changed, while accusing Republican men of misogyny.

"There are pathetic Republican men (mostly paid social media influencers) attacking me for going on Bill Maher's show and The View," Greene wrote.

There are pathetic Republican men (mostly paid social media influencers) attacking me for going on Bill Maher's show and The View. Here is my voting card and nothing has changed about me, I'm 1,000,000% America ONLY.Sorry I'm not sorry I don't obey Republican men's demands… pic.twitter.com/Y29SqL0M1b

"Here is my voting card and nothing has changed about me, I'm 1,000,000% America ONLY," she continued, referring to her Liberty Score, a mark based on her voting record monitored by the Conservative Review.Greene added, "Sorry I'm not sorry I don't obey Republican men's demands that I, as a woman, don't remain seen but not heard."

Greene will appear on The View on Tuesday, Nov. 4. She confirmed her appearance on the show in a Thursday, Oct. 30, post on X, where she shared a clip of co-host Whoopi Goldberg saying she agrees with Greene's stance that the ongoing shutdown "should not be affecting the American people."

"I look forward to joining the ladies on The View on Tuesday!" Greene wrote. Her message was a notable departure from her previous remarks about the show, which features a panel of women who are outspoken in their disapproval of President Donald Trump and have publicly criticized the congresswoman, as well.

Greene once called the panelists "angry, nasty women," and claimed that The View's parent company, Disney, is "pro-child predator."

Before appearing on The View, Greene will be a guest on the Friday, Oct. 31, episode of Real Time. While host Maher accepted an invitation to the White House earlier this year and said Trump was "gracious and measured" during the visit, he's remained a constant critic of the president on his program, and has often made jabs at Greene, too.

The Georgia lawmaker's ongoing media tour appeared to irritate Cruz, who urged other Republicans to "ignore" Greene as she becomes more outspoken about how the government shutdown has been handled by her own party, specifically their failure to negotiate with Democrats on healthcare reform.

While appearing on Squawk Box on Wednesday, Oct. 29, Cruz said, "My advice is don't spend much time worrying about what Marjorie is saying."

"What I've found is that whenever an elected official decides that they are going to turn on Israel and hate Israel, you will very quickly see every other policy out of their mouth become very, very liberal," Cruz said, likely referring to Greene's characterization of the war in Gaza as a "genocide."

"And so suddenly Marjorie is for massive government spending and taxes and open borders and amnesty," he continued. "Okay, fine. That is not where the American people are. Where the American people are is real simple. We're on Day 29 of the stupidest shutdown."

Greene's recent X post echoes comments she made earlier this month when she described men in Congress as "weak" while attacking House Speaker Mike Johnson's response to the shutdown.

"There's a lot of weak Republican men and they're more afraid of strong Republican women," she told The Washington Post. "So they always try to marginalize the strong Republican women that actually want to do something and actually want to achieve."
