Taylor Momsen is taking a trip down memory lane.
The singer and actress' band The Pretty Reckless released a festive, six-track EP, Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Christmas, on Friday, Oct. 31, and the project features a reimagined version of "Where Are You Christmas?" from How the Grinch Stole Christmas 25 years after the film's original release.
The modern classic holiday ballad, cowritten by Mariah Carey, was first performed by Momsen, 32, as a child, when she played Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 film. The soundtrack also included a version by Faith Hill, which reached No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Momsen's new take on "Where Are You Christmas?" opens with a clip of her original recording from the film before exploding into a fun, upbeat rock version.
She sings on the track, "Where are you, Christmas? / Why can't I find you? / Why have you gone away? / Where is the laughter / You used to bring me? / Why can't I hear music play?"
Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Christmas also includes four original songs — "I Wanna Be Your Christmas Tree," "Christmas Is Killing Me," "Blues on Christmas" and "When We Were Young" — as well as a reprise of "Where Are You Christmas?" titled "Christmas, Why Can't I Find You."
The Gossip Girl alum said of the EP in a statement, "Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Christmas started as just one song, but the moment we got into the studio, it took on a life of its own."
"There was so much emotion, nostalgia and chaos wrapped up in it that it didn't feel right to leave it standing alone. To really honor it, I needed to build a whole world around it," continued Momsen. "That's how this project became a full body of work. Something bigger, deeper and far more personal than I ever expected."

Momsen, who starred in How the Grinch Stole Christmas at age 7, reflected on filming the movie in a December 2020 interview with Today.
"I think that people love The Grinch just simply because the core of the story is so sweet and it's so heartwarming and it has such a good message," she said at the time. "That no matter what age touches your heart, I think that that's an amazing thing to be a part of."
"The fact that it comes back around every year — I think it's something to look forward to. And I think it just kinda brings happiness and joy to anyone who watches it," she added at the time.
