Demi Lovato isn't afraid to poke a little fun at herself — so she went all out for her Halloween costume this year.
The 33-year-old performer debuted her costume on social media on Thursday (Oct. 30), getting dressed up as "Poot," a decade-old meme based on a Photoshopped image of Lovato.
The character of Poot originated back in 2015 on Tumblr when a fan took an over-exposed cell phone photo of Lovato and edited it so that she looked distorted and almost bald, jokingly claiming it was the singer's long-lost twin sister who had been locked in a basement. "happy halloween," Lovato wrote on Instagram. "been so locked in this era thought i'd let pootvato out 🔒"

Lovato also shared a hilarious video on TikTok, where she showed off her basement digs while in costume. In the vid, set to Sabrina Carpenter's "House Tour," Lovato could be seen sweeping the floor and cowering in corners.
"hi AD it's me poot, welcome to my basement!" Lovato captioned the video.
It's not the first time Lovato has paid tribute to the viral meme. Back in April, she posted a TikTok responding to a question about Poot's whereabouts, joking that she was "never letting her out" of the basement.
Lovato has also previously shared that she wasn't a fan of the meme at first because she just thought everyone was making fun of a bad photo. When she learned the image was Photoshopped, she began to enjoy the jokes.
"When Poot went viral, that actually sucked because I thought that was a real picture of me," she told Harper's BAZAAR in 2023. "And I was like, 'Oh, no. That's a really bad angle.' But Poot was photoshopped. Later, I felt better about it because I realized that wasn't my face."
