The cast of American Horror Story season 13 has been revealed!

The news was announced on the Ryan Murphy Productions Instagram account on Halloween, with a video of the actors' names flashing against a dark screen as Vera Lynn's cover of "I'll Be Seeing You" played. The star-studded list concluded with the most shocking return of all — Jessica Lange, who previously declared that she was done with the hit anthology series.

Among the other exciting cast members is Ariana Grande. This comes 10 years after she previously worked with series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk in Scream Queens, in which she starred alongside Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd, who will also appear in the upcoming installment of AHS.

Additionally, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates and Gabourey Sidibe are set to return to the franchise.

The comments were quickly flooded with fans reacting to the news, with many expressing excitement to see the Wicked star join the franchise.

"ARIANA WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!??" one read. Paulson even commented: "ARIANA GRANDE HELLO?!"

Also a pleasant surprise was Peters' casting: "THANK YOU FOR BRINGING EVAN BACK," a fan gushed.

Even more people were celebrating Lange's unexpected return.

"BUTTON FOR EVERYONE WHO SCREAMED WHEN JESSICA LANGE'S NAME CAME UP!!! 😱 >>>>>>" one user exclaimed.

"JESSICA LANGS NAME BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES AM I DREAMING HELP," another said as someone else wrote, "The way my mouth DROPPED at the return of queen Jessica Lange😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Jessica Lange

Lange, 72, played key roles in the first four seasons of the series, starring in Murder House (2011), Asylum (2012-2013), Coven (2013-2014) and Freak Show (2015-2015). During a 2019 interview with Entertainment Weekly, however, she said that she had no plans to take on another season.

"I feel like I got the best of it in those first four seasons," she explained. "Great characters. It was exciting to do. I worked with some of my favorite actors but I can't see that we could ever get back to that."

In 2018, Lange made her most recent appearance on the show with a one-episode cameo in AHS: Apocalypse, reprising her Murder House character Constance Langdon.

"Just that tiny little reprise, that part, that was enough," she told EW at the time.
