Francis Ford Coppola has fond feelings for his time with Dracula.

The filmmaker, 86, shared photos from his time making 1992's Bram Stoker's Dracula, joking that he has "renewed pride" in the film, "like its main character, refusing to die." "I think it was befitting the production, that since Bram Stoker wrote DRACULA coincidentally at the same time motion pictures were being born, that we made the film as if we were in that time, and all effects were done the way Georges Méliès and the early filmmakers would have done them, as live action MAGIC ILLUSIONS or multiple passes made on the film negative before it was developed," Coppola wrote.

"There were no digitally-generated effects, only my son Roman with his small team of on-set live effects people and a great group of storyboard artists headed by Peter Ramsey."

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder played Jonathan Harker and Mina Murray in the film, based on the classic vampire novel.

Ryder previously said she and Reeves actually got married while filming the wedding scene when she told Entertainment Weekly in 2018 that the movie "used a real Romanian priest" to perform an entire wedding ceremony.

"We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are," Reeves later told Esquire in 2021. "Coppola says we are. So I guess we're married under the eyes of God."

Last year, while Ryder, 53, promoted her movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice on an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actress said she and Reeves, 61, jokingly refer to each other as spouses when they text each other.

"We always say who it is even though it says it on the text," Ryder said, while speaking to her friendship with Reeves.

"So he's always like — like, on his birthday, I'll write 'Happy birthday, my husband,' and I put 'Noni,' and he's like, 'Hey, wife, love you! KR57,' like on each birthday, he's like 'KR57,' or whatever his age is, and he's always done that. He's the best."
