Julia Fox is the first lady of fierce fashion, but she took that title to new heights on Halloween.
The model and actress, 35, went for a macabre take on former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis while attending The Cursed Amulet Halloween party in New York City on Thursday, Oct. 30. Onassis was married to former President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1963 after being shot while traveling in a presidential motorcade in Dallas.
In true Jackie O. fashion, Fox wore a powder pink blazer and matching skirt, topped off with a dainty pillbox hat — the same outfit Onassis wore on the day of Kennedy's death. Fox also added some graphic accents, which included red splatters to evoke Kennedy's tragic killing.

Onassis, who had been married to President Kennedy for a decade, was seated next to Kennedy when he was shot by alleged killer Lee Harvey Oswald. The first lady famously refused to remove her blood-soaked clothing after Kennedy's death, explaining that she wanted "them to see what they have done to Jack."
"I'm dressed as Jackie Kennedy in the pink suit. Not as a costume, but as a statement," Fox wrote in an Oct. 31 Instagram post. "The image of the delicate pink suit splattered with blood is one of the most haunting juxtapositions in modern history. Beauty and horror. Poise and devastation."
Fox added that Onassis' refusal to change clothing was an "act of extraordinary bravery," calling it "performance, protest and mourning all at once."
"A woman weaponizing image and grace to expose brutality," Fox concluded. "It's about trauma, power and how femininity itself is a form of resistance. Long live Jackie O ♥️"

Julia Fox divides fans with Jackie Kennedy Halloween look
Despite her heartfelt homage, Fox's Halloween look is stirring controversy.
The "Uncut Gems" star's bold Jackie Kennedy costume divided social media users, with some criticizing the look's graphic portrayal of President Kennedy's death.
"That's a great message, but unless you tell everyone that lays eyes on you, it's just gonna look horrifically offensive," @prettiestpickle wrote. "I don't believe in hell, but people do say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions."
User @marissa_mollygolightly blasted the costume's reference to political violence in the wake of conservative activist Charlie Kirk's September murder: "So my question is, why would you do it this year unless you were trying to mock Charlie Kirk? You are truly soulless. Ugh."
Even with Fox's detailed explanation, user @paupaubombon mused, "I don't know, I still think it's problematic."

However, several people applauded Fox for the historical tribute of her costume and its accompanying political commentary.
"OK, the caption saved it for me − not everyone has this type of mindset," @latina__lai wrote.
"Julia, one of the Ivy Leagues needs you to teach a class on the perception of femininity," @nadiatrz commented.
