Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs remains out with a mysterious concussion and head coach Brian Schottenheimer said there's a chance he'll be placed on injured reserve.

"We're going to keep all options open," Schottenheimer said Friday.

Schottenheimer doesn't expect Diggs to be available Sunday at Denver, leaving a short-handed secondary to deal with quarterback Bo Nix. Nix has 1,122 total yards during the Broncos' four-game winning streak.

Diggs sustained a concussion in an "accident at his home" last Thursday and was ruled out for the Week 7 win over the visiting Washington Commanders. Schottenheimer and owner Jerry Jones have not shared details of the incident or described how Diggs was injured. Jones said on Monday he wasn't sure the story added up but that he expected Diggs to be back.

In an interview with 105.3 FM in Dallas on Friday, Jones made it clear he doesn't expect Diggs to play against the Broncos.

"I think questionable for this week and we won't go past that. But questionable this week -- real questionable," Jones said.

Diggs has not practiced this week or met with media, which is customary for players in concussion protocol.

Diggs, 27, has 18 tackles in six games (four starts) this season.

He was activated from the physically unable to perform list in August after missing the final six games last season with a left knee injury. The two-time Pro Bowl selection previously sustained a torn ACL in practice two games into the 2023 campaign.

In 64 games (61 starts) since Dallas drafted Diggs in the second round in 2020, he has recorded 20 interceptions, 63 passes defensed, 233 tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles. He was named first-team All-Pro in 2021, when he led the league with 11 interceptions and returned two of them for touchdowns.
