Spoiler alert: The following contains details from the Season 49 Episode 4 of "Survivor."

After losing every immunity challenge and having one of their members medically evacuated from a venomous snake bite, the disaster tribe of "Survivor 49" finally had their first break.

On the Wednesday, Oct. 15 episode of the reality competition series, the two remaining Kele members, Alex Moore and Sophi Balerdi, received the best news of their "Survivor" lives when host Jeff Probst announced a tribe swap. The underdog duo, as well as the other two undefeated tribes of six, all dropped their buffs, randomly drew new colors and entered a new stage of the game.

The 14 remaining castaways morphed into two tribes of seven, with the original Hina holding a majority alliance in one tribe, while the original Uli held a majority in the other. After the immunity challenge, Alex got to celebrate his first immunity win while Sophi became the only Season 49 contestant to have gone to every single tribal council so far.

Here's who went home.

Following the tribe swap, Matt and fellow original Hina member Jason Treul found themselves at the bottom after Sophi quickly aligned with the four original Uli members. With the numbers on their side, Savannah Louie, Nate Moore, Rizo Velovic and Jawan Pitts had to decide between voting for Matt or Jason.

Matt Williams, a contestant on "Survivor" Season 49, premiering on Sept. 24, 2025.

Ultimately, the group felt more threatened by Matt because he tried to blindside Nate.

Jason, Nate, Rizo and Jawan voted for Matt, while Sophie and Savannah voted for Jason.

"I stumbled along the way, but I really thought I could recover. I thought I had a plan, but the people I put my trust in fell through for me," Matt said in his exit interview. "It's a tough, tough game. Hate to see it cut short like this, but kind of looking forward to 15 beers and a cheeseburger or maybe 15 cheeseburgers and a beer."
