The Neighborhood is based on fictional family dynamics, but some of the stars' real-life kids have appeared on the sitcom.
The show, which is currently in season 8, features Max Greenfield and Cedric the Entertainer in the lead roles. The cast has often spoken about the close bond they have formed off-screen, which translates to their characters.
"Max Greenfield and I have great chemistry off-screen, too, so it translates naturally," Cedric told Revolt TV in May 2025. "We're not afraid to play off each other, challenge each other, and laugh at each other, just like real neighbors would."
Both Greenfield's daughter, Lilly, and castmate Marcel Spears' daughter, Nola, have made appearances on the sitcom. Speaking with PEOPLE in February 2020, Greenfield opened up about his daughter spending a lot of time on set.
"She watches The Neighborhood. She loves it and she loves coming to set," he said. "She's made a real name for herself on the set. We put her to work. I go, 'This is everyone's intern for the day. Anyone can tell her to do anything,' and she's ready to go to work, and she honestly is like happy to do it."

Greenfield, who portrays Dave Johnson, shares two children with his wife Tess Sanchez. They welcomed their daughter, Lilly, in January 2010 and their son, Ozzie, in August 2015.
During an appearance on The Rachael Ray Show in January 2023, Greenfield opened up about Lilly making a cameo in a season 4 episode of The Neighborhood after spending a lot of time on set.
"We had her audition, she was excellent if I do say so myself," he said. "It was really fun, and I think she would have preferred to do a job without dad. But, she loves it here, and she was nice to everyone except me ... I gave her a note in one of the rehearsals, and it didn't go over well."
Greenfield told Salon in April 2023 that his son Ozzie is also trying his hand at comedy after watching The Neighborhood.
"My son is just starting to realize that I'm an actor, but I don't think he really knows what an actor is. He's seen The Neighborhood a couple times," he said. "I think he's really intrigued by the laugh track, so now he keeps trying to get laughs."
The New Girl alum added, "He is genuinely funny. He's got to work on some of his material, but his delivery is outstanding."

Beth Behrs, who plays Dave's wife Gemma Johnson, and her husband, Michael Gladis, welcomed their daughter Emma in June 2022.
While the pair haven't shared any photos of Emma, Behrs revealed during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show that her daughter is already following in her footsteps.
"I think she might be a little musical theater girl. But I didn't put this on her," she said in January 2025. "Michael and I want her to have nothing to do with Hollywood."
Behrs continued, "I want her to be a horse vet, so I don't have to pay the horse bills anymore. I'm really pushing horses on her."

Cedric, who portrays Calvin Butler, shares two children with his wife, Lorna Wells: son Croix, who was born on Sept. 29, 2000, and daughter Lucky, who was born on Nov. 30, 2003. The comedian also has an older daughter, Tiara, whom he welcomed with a previous partner in May 1989.
Tiara owns a professional catering company, per her Instagram; Croix is an animator and artist, per his website; and Lucky is the founder of cosmetic company Pretty Lucky Lips, per her Instagram bio.
In December 2023, Croix and Lucky were featured on Cedric's Christmas album, The Soul of Christmas.
"It was just great. My daughter has a really sweet voice," the comedian told BET.com. "My son was having a good time singing on it and did some backgrounds, and he's got that funny bone. He's silly, like me."

Tichina Arnold, who plays Calvin's wife Tina Butler, welcomed her daughter Alijah with music producer Carvin Haggins on March 16, 2004.
Alijah is following in her parents' footsteps by pursuing a career in acting and music. She's appeared in films such as The Sound of Christmas and Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story.
Speaking with Essence Girls United, Arnold said that she encouraged her daughter to pursue music from a young age.
"I always wanted my daughter to sing because I loved singing, but there was never any pressure for her to pursue music, so when she decided to become a singer, I was fully supportive and got a team for her," she said.

Spears, who portrays Calvin and Tina's younger son Marty Butler, welcomed daughter Nola with his girlfriend, Sarah Francis Jones, on Sept. 5, 2023.
A year later, Nola made her acting debut in a season 7 episode of The Neighborhood. Spears shared photos of his daughter on set and revealed her role as a crying baby in a daycare.
"This show truly is like family and the cast and crew have completely embraced my real life daughter so her being in this episode was extra special," he wrote in the caption.
Spears added, "I don't know if Nola will have a future in acting but I loved having her as my little 'Easter egg' for this episode and she earned her first little check! I'm a very proud Dad tonight lol."
