Cillian Murphy's son Aran has signed on for a new role
The 17-year-old will next star in HBO and Sky's co-production of WAR
The teenager will also appear in Taika Waititi's upcoming film Klara and the Sun
Cillian Murphy's son is making a name for himself in the industry.
The Oppenheimer star's 17-year-old son Aran has joined the cast of WAR, an upcoming HBO and Sky co-production that will also feature actors Dominic West and Sienna Miller. Aran's talent agency shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of the teenager who bears a striking resemblance to his dad.
While this is Aran's first television series, it's not his first movie. The son of Murphy and his wife Yvonne McGuinness appeared in the 2022 movie Lola and will also appear in Taika Waititi's upcoming film Klara and the Sun alongside Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.

Alongside Aran, Cillian and his wife are parents to son Malachy.
In March 2024, the Irish actor walked the red carpet at the 2024 Oscars, joined by McGuinness and their two sons Malachy and Aran.
In photos from the event, Murphy held hands with his wife, walking just ahead of the couple's teenage sons, who matched their dad in black tuxedos. The actor, who later won Best Actor for his role in the film Oppenheimer, smiled as he walked with his family of four.
That January, Murphy took a moment to thank his wife and sons as he accepted the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor, at the Palm Springs International Film Awards.

Acknowledging that "because I don't ever really get to do this too often, I want to say thanks to my family," Murphy went on to thank his wife and his kids.
"Two-thirds of them are sitting down there. We had to leave one of them at home doing exams," said the actor. "But just thanks for putting up with me — putting up with the half me and the shadow me and the absent me, the remains of me when I'm doing a film like this or work in general."
"You're always there. I love it. So thanks, guys," he added.
He's also shared in the past that he and McGuinness work to ensure that their sons have a normal, private life.
"I don't know, they seem better adjusted than I was. More sure of themselves," Murphy told The Guardian in 2016. "I'm happy about that. For me, it was something that took a long time to figure out: that it's all right to be you, that it's all right to be an individual."
