How I Met Your Mother.
It's been 20 years of the iconic comedy How I Met Your Mother. The series first debuted on CBS on Sept. 19, 2005, and was originally narrated by Bob Saget. Starring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan as besties who navigate the dating world in New York City, the story of how Ted Mosby (Radnor) meets the mother of his children is told by his future self (Saget) to his kids.
How I Met Your Mother first premiered during Virgo season, causing viewers to reflect on former relationships and lending insight into how to date in the early aughts. The final episode ran on March 31, 2014, at the time of its nodal opposition to its debut. The ending was bittersweet for the cast and fans, who had been patiently waiting to finally see the show's title character, "The Mother," during the show's 9 seasons.
To celebrate its run, read about how your favorite HIMYM characters link up with your zodiac sign:
Aries: Lily Aldrin

Alyson Hannigan as Lily Aldrin.
Lily's birthday is March 22, making her an Aries. Lily follows what she wants and stands up for herself in proper ram form. She can sometimes assert her fiery energy and passions by instigating drama and catalyzing breakups between couples, earning her the nickname "diabolical puppet master" and "pure evil" from Barney. Only an Aries, like Lily, can take Barney's jabs in a joking way.
Taurus: Ted Mosby

Josh Radnor as Ted Mosby.
At the core, Ted is a chill and successful guy looking for love in the Big Apple. The zodiac sign Taurus is ruled by Venus, proving that he is drawn to romance and partnership. Ted is often highly vulnerable and wears his heart on his sleeve, which is why fans adore him. Guess what? Ted's birthday is April 25, making him a Bull at large.
Gemini: Carl MacLaren
Joe Nieves as Carl MacLaren.
The bartender and owner of MacLaren's Pub is an honorary member of the gang, even though he doesn't socialize with them as much as he should (he's working while they're hanging out). Geminis don't need to be in the center to feel like they're a part of it, as long as they get all the tea. Pretty sure Carl can relate.
Cancer: Abby

Britney Spears as Abby.
Come on, we had to call out Britney Spears' guest role! The character she plays, Abby, is sweet and sensitive like Cancer. Abby is portrayed as a naive and innocent receptionist, but is edgy. Cancers have many facets to their personality, so putting them in a box is hard. Like Abby, their emotions change every few days with the moon, adding depth to their persona.
Leo: Robin Scherbatsky

Cobie Smulders as Robin Scherbatsky.
Before you learn that Robin's birthday is July 23, it's obvious her zodiac sign is Leo. Throughout the series, Robin strives to be the best news anchor, pal and girlfriend to those she dates — but never loses track of herself in the process. Similar to the fearless lion, Robin doesn't hide from love and works hard to secure her independence.
Virgo: The Mother aka Tracy McConnell

Cristin Milioti as The Mother/Tracy McConnell.
Tracy is "The Mother" in How I Met Your Mother (a revelation to viewers in the season 8 finale). Tracy's birthday is Sept. 19, aligning with the Earth sign Virgo. She is the vocalist and bass player for a band called "Superfreakonomics," which, in Mercurial form, blends economics and music. Virgos are straightforward, like Tracy, and they like to mix that vibe with fun.
Libra: The Captain aka George Van Smoot

Kyle MacLachlan as The Captain/George Van Smoot.
Libras are charmers! They possess a charisma that makes an impression on others. Perhaps it's their flair for dining and winning those they care about without hesitation. "The Captain," also known by George Van Smoot (a name that he chose for himself because of his big boat), is a ladies' man karmically intertwined in the group through his past and present liaisons — very Libra!
Scorpio: Barney Stinson

Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Simpson.
In the 2007 episode "Columns," Marshall mentions that Barney is a Scorpio. The enigmatic Water sign totally aligns with his character! Scorpios are powerhouses not to be reckoned with who won't stop until they get what they want. Yes, Barney possesses that drive in his personal and professional life. With his dry, sarcastic wit and honesty, Barney is a notorious player on the dating scene.
Sagittarius: Becky

Laura Bell Bundy Becky.
When two Fire signs butt heads, it can be disastrous. Becky is Robin's co-anchor, who isn't the kindest because she's condescending in a cheeky way. They create an interesting dynamic in the series. Becky is perky and cheerful to the point of being obnoxious, which sometimes irks Robin. Sagittariuses usually prefer to have the last word — which is exactly how Becky instigates matters with Robin.
Capricorn: Hammond Druthers
Bryan Cranston has Hammond Druthers.
Another big-time celeb, Bryan Cranston, guest-starred on several episodes as Ted's eccentric boss, who has somewhat of a temper, to say the least. Capricorns are usually the CEOs of businesses and the head honchos, which is why Hammond Druthers is a perfect match for the sign. Later on, the two become rivals and competitors, and the battle of the Earth signs begins.
Aquarius: Anita Appleby

Jennifer Lopez as Anita Appleby.
Jennifer Lopez portrays Anita Appleby (unfortunately, only in one episode) as a relationship expert who helps Robin deal with her problems in her partnership with Barney. The Air sign likes to advise those in need, and will get up on their high horse and grandstand so their views can be heard. So, it is no wonder that a therapist-type of character would connect to Aquarius.
Pisces: Marshall Eriksen

Jason Segel as Marshall Eriksen.
Marshall is stated as being born between Nov. 2 and 14, which means he's a Scorpio. Even though his birthday falls during that period, Marshall has a softer sentiment and energy, exuding primary Pisces qualities. So, we can assume there might be Pisces placements in his chart because he completely is enamored with his wife, Lily, and wishes to heal and help the world.
