Jimmy Fallon has officially broken his silence regarding ABC's decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live!from the air.
On Wednesday, Sept. 17, the network abruptly suspended Kimmel's late-night program "indefinitely" due to comments he made earlier in the week about the death of conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk.

Jimmy Fallon Speaks Out in Defense of Jimmy Kimmel
Much of Hollywood has already spoken out to condemn the network's decision to suspend Kimmel's program—and now Fallon, one of the biggest names in late-night TV, has finally weighed in.
During Fallon's opening monologue for Thursday's episode of The Tonight Show, the actor and comedian addressed the situation, stating, "The big story is that Jimmy Kimmel was suspended by ABC after pressure from the FCC, leaving everyone thinking, 'WTF?'"
He also joked that he woke up to "100 text messages from my dad saying, 'I'm sorry they canceled your show.' I go, 'That's not me! That's Jimmy Kimmel!'"
But getting more serious about the situation, Fallon said, "To be honest with you all, I don't know what's going on, and no one does. But I do know Jimmy Kimmel, and he's a decent, funny and loving guy, and I hope he comes back."
Jimmy Fallon Addresses Fan Concern Regarding 'Censorship'
Fallon went on to do what he does best and bring some levity to the situation. While addressing concerns that more late-night hosts will be censored when talking about politically-loaded topics on their shows, specifically when it comes to criticizing Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, Fallon ensured fans that he will be carrying on with business as usual.
"A lot of people are worried that we won't keep saying what we want to say or that we'll be censored, but I'm going to cover the president's trip to the U.K. like I normally would," he insisted.
"Here we go. Well guys, President Trump just wrapped up his three-day trip to the U.K. and he looked..." Fallon said, before his audio was cut out and a voice-over message played instead, calling Trump "incredibly handsome."
"As always, his tie was..." Fallon continued, while appearing to make fun of the president's wardrobe, while the voice interrupted to insist that Trump's tie was "exactly the right length."
The silly back-and-forth bit continued on during the monologue, before Fallon eventually moved on to cover other topics for the rest of the broadcast.
