The Jim Henson Company is hosting an auction to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Muppets
On the auction block is everything from Miss Piggy's high heels to the puppets featured in Fraggle Rock
Bidding began Oct. 22 and culminates Nov. 25
You can now own a piece of the Jim Henson Company's storied seven-decade legacy — for a price, of course. The iconic puppetry studio is hosting an auction to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Muppets, allowing anyone with the budget to bid on everything from Miss Piggy's high heels to the puppets featured in Fraggle Rock.
While bidding began on Oct. 22, 2025, it will culminate in a live auction on Nov. 25 at the Jim Henson Company in Hollywood, California.
The auction marks the first time The Jim Henson Company has ever made officially authenticated items — including more than 80 hand-made puppets —from their vast catalogue of titles available to the public.

Up for bid are a number of official Henson props, costumes, set pieces, and memorabilia from films and television shows such as The Muppet Movie, Fraggle Rock, Labyrinth, Farscape, The Hoobs, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
Karen Falk, director of the archives for The Jim Henson Company, said in a press release: "With tens of thousands of items catalogued in The Jim Henson Company's Archive from our seventy-year history, it has been an exciting project to select the pieces that will be a part of this auction. This landmark event is sure to include something for every fan and collector interested in the Henson legacy and our contributions to pop culture and entertainment."
Also featured in the auction are original artworks by the late Caroll Spinney, best known as the puppeteer behind beloved Sesame Street characters Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. Spinney originated the iconic characters on the first season of the long-running children's program in 1969 and performed them for 49 years through 2018.

In addition to working as a puppeteer, Spinney was also an artist, who illustrated books and training aids for the Air Force. Nine of Spinney's original artworks — featuring Sesame Street characters like Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Bert & Ernie, and Elmo — are up for bid.
A number of the puppets featured in Fraggle Rock — like Uncle Traveling Matt and Doozer — are also up for auction, with each estimated to fetch at least $40,000.

"Jim Henson's innovation and creativity revolutionized family entertainment, and his optimism and sincerity made him one of the most beloved artists of our time," Catherine Williamson, managing director of entertainment for Julien's Auctions said in the release.
