Elaine Hendrix was absent from the Dancing With the Stars ballroom on Halloween Night.
The Parent Trap star was hospitalized with a rib injury during rehearsals ahead of Tuesday's new episode.
Elaine's pro partner Alan Bersten represented the pair in the ballroom during the episode, and they were judged on their rehearsal. All four judges — Cheryl Burke was a guest judge — awarded the duo 8s for a total of 32.
Though the pair didn't have the chance to bring their gory, ghoulish best on the season's Halloween-themed episode, fans can still vote for Elaine as usual. If she and Alan make it through the night's eliminations, doctors have since cleared her to return to the competition, Bersten told Julianne Hough in the skybox.

Hendrix took to Instagram to address her absence directly.
"Hi, so, obviously I'm not in the ballroom," Hendrix announced from her hospital bed in the video. "I injured my ribs during 'Defying Gravity,' and today they just seized up and I couldn't move." Hendrix's doctor assured her that "with a day or two of rest, I should be able to return," she explained.
In the caption, Hendrix added, "Halloween is my favorite, and I'm devastated. 💔 I was beyond excited to share what we had worked so hard on, although you'll see a version of it. With your support, I'll be back in the ballroom next week. I want nothing more."

In a video from rehearsals prior to Hendrix's injury, the actress explained, "Because of my titanium joint, I ripped half the skin off the bottom of my right foot. Perfect for Halloween! It's ghoulish." Hendrix and Bersten proceeded to work on their Argentine tango, but "all the sudden, Elaine kind of throws, and she can't move and can't breathe and something happened with her rib," Bersten explained.
The actress was shown wincing in pain before being escorted out of the ballroom on a stretcher into an ambulance.
Following the recorded video of her rehearsal, attendees in the ballroom rose to their feet for a standing ovation before the judges shared their feedback.
Derek Hough called her "a born performer," while Burke said that she felt Hendrix has been "underrated a little bit" in the competition thus far. Bruno Tonioli praised Bersten for doing a "great job," pointing out the "layer of sultriness" that made Hendrix's performance shine.

It's a particularly sad week for Hendrix to miss, as she would have returned to the ballroom to collect bounties of well-deserved flowers for the "Defying Gravity" routine she mentioned in her video.
Hendrix nabbed the climactic song from the hit stage musical and now-Academy Award-nominated film series during last week's "Wicked Night." At the close of her contemporary dance to "Defying Gravity," Hendrix recreated the stage musical's showstopping trick of soaring into the air via wires and pullies, appearing to make good on the song's titular promise.
But evidently, things didn't go so well once Hendrix returned to Earth.
Hendrix and Bersten received a 36 for their efforts last week.
Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, and streams the next day on Hulu.
