Chris Evans is not just America's favorite superhero, he's a dad now. That's right—Evans, 44, and his wife Alba Baptista, 28, quietly welcomed their first child, People confirmed on October 28. The couple did not announce they were expecting, making the news a pleasant surprise.
TMZ was the first to report the news, stating the couple officially entered parenthood on Saturday, when Baptista gave birth in Massachusetts. Neither the baby's name nor sex have been revealed. Reps for Evans and Baptista did not immediately respond to InStyle's request for comment.

The pair's romance dates all the way back to 2021, when they first sparked dating rumors after eagle-eyed fans noticed Baptista followed Evans back on Instagram. The Marvel star had first followed the actress in fall of 2020 when they were both filming projects in Europe.
In November 2022, a source confirmed to People that the two were indeed an item. "They are in love and Chris has never been happier," the insider said, adding that they had been dating for over a year at this point. "His family and friends all adore her...it's serious."

The private couple started forever when they tied the knot in a small, intimate wedding in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in September 2023. Following the ceremony, they enjoyed a party at their Boston home with a number of A-listers in attendance, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Emily Blunt, and John Krasinski.
Evans and Baptista made their red carpet debut in March 2024, when they attended the Vanity Fairy Oscar Party and put their romance on full display.

Evans opened up to People in November 2022 about wanting to start a family, though he didn't mention Baptista at the time. "That's absolutely something I want: wife, kids, building a family," Evans said. "When you read about most of the best artists, whether it's actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn't the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships; the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared."
