However, a week before the concert, her boyfriend asked her not to go to the show
The woman still attended the performance, but now wonders if she was in the wrong
A woman bought concert tickets to see her "favorite" artist, only for her boyfriend to tell her not to go.
In a Reddit post, the woman explained that she and her boyfriend have been together for a year. When a musician whom she loves announced their tour "a few months ago," she "immediately bought a ticket." While her boyfriend "seemed okay with it at the time," he later changed his tune.
"The problem is, the artist is known for having a very passionate fanbase, and he has always been weirdly jealous of him, saying the lyrics are 'inappropriate' and that guys only listen to him to hit on girls," she writes.

The woman shares that the week of the concert, her boyfriend asked her not to go, saying it "made him uncomfortable" and "he had a bad feeling about it."
"He wanted me to sell the ticket. I told him I'd spent a lot of money on it and that I've been a fan for years, so I was going to go. I even offered to call him during the show to check in, but he said that wasn't the point," the woman shares.
She ultimately went to the concert with her group of girlfriends. She "had a great time" and posted pictures on her social media. When she came home, her boyfriend was "furious," didn't talk to her and slept on the couch.
"This morning, he said I completely disrespected his feelings and chose a 'stupid concert' over our relationship. He says I broke his trust by going when he explicitly said it made him uncomfortable."
Now, the poster says she feels "guilty" that he's so hurt, but believes she "should be allowed to enjoy things I like."
"It was just a concert with my friends; I wasn't doing anything wrong. He's making it seem like I betrayed him," the woman writes, asking fellow Redditors if she was in the wrong.
People in the comments had her back, agreeing that her boyfriend was being immature.
"It just screams immaturity doesn't it. The guy is trying to ruin his partner's brilliant night at their favorite artist's gig by throwing a hissy fit, refusing to communicate, sleeping in a different room & then guilt tripping them about it the next day," one person wrote. "If he wanted to have a conversation with her about it he could have acted nicely & talked about it over breakfast."
Another person wrote, "The truth is you went to a concert with your friends and enjoyed music you have loved for years. That is not a betrayal. A relationship should not mean giving up parts of yourself just to soothe someone else's jealousy."
