Parity is off to a strong start in the 2025 NFL season. Through two weeks, 10 teams are 2-0, 12 teams are 1-1 and 10 teams are 0-2.
With 10 teams yet to win a game in 2025, it's fair to start asking which head coaches are sitting on a hot seat ahead of Week 3. Some of the coaches of 0-2 teams are beyond safe in their jobs – looking at you, Kansas City Chiefs' Andy Reid – while others might need to start remembering their LinkedIn passwords.
With a wide range of figurative temperatures on head coaching seats through two weeks, USA TODAY Sports ranked all 10 teams off to an 0-2 start by how likely they are to fire their head coaches.

NFL WEEK 3: Picks straight up and against spread: Eagles or Rams in playoff rematch?
Ranking NFL head coach hot seats for 0-2 teamsCompletely safe
10. Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs
Vanilla Ice might as well have been describing the temperature of Reid's proverbial "hot seat" when he said, "Ice, ice, baby." Reid's three Super Bowl wins – and five AFC titles – as the Chiefs' head coach have earned him plenty of breathing room to get through an 0-2 start without any serious questioning whether he'll be fired.
9. Ben Johnson, Chicago Bears
The Bears had never fired a head coach during the regular season in their 100-plus-year history – until they fired Matt Eberflus last year. The 2025 season should be the start of a new streak. It's Johnson's first year, he was the hottest name on the head coaching market last offseason, and his early returns have been solid on his work with second-year quarterback Caleb Williams. Johnson has room to work in 2025, even if he's still chasing his first win.
8. Kellen Moore, New Orleans Saints
Through two games as the Saints' head coach, Moore has made a team coming off of a 12-loss season look competitive. New Orleans has yet to win a game, but their two losses are by one score and young gunslinger Spencer Rattler is off to a solid start. Like Johnson, Moore's status as a first-year head coach and early impact on the offense allow him breathing room.
A couple of degrees above what is comfortable
7. Aaron Glenn, New York Jets
Welcome to the New York media market, Aaron Glenn. After a shootout loss to former Jet Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers, then a blowout loss to the divisional rival Bills, some fans an analysts are ready to start sounding the alarm on Glenn. Realistically, though, Glenn's job should be safe as a first-year head coach. A two-game sample size is not enough to evaluate Glenn's efforts thus far as a failure, but the New York media market's swiftness to pile on the latest Jets head coach only makes the hot seat feel a little warmer than is desirable.
6. DeMeco Ryans, Houston Texans
In Ryans' first two seasons as the Texans' head coach, Houston has gone 10-7 both times and won a playoff game. That includes a 2023 in which the Texans began the season 0-2. Houston's two losses this year are by a combined six points against two fellow playoff contenders from 2024, both from the NFC side of the bracket. As quarterback C.J. Stroud gets used to a re-tooled offensive line and new offensive coordinator, he and Ryans will get some well-earned patience to start 2025.
The seat is hot
5. Dave Canales, Carolina Panthers
The Panthers hired Canales before the 2024 season with the mission to develop 2023 No. 1 overall pick and quarterback Bryce Young. After two weeks in charge, at this time last year, Canales benched Young in favor of veteran Andy Dalton. Young eventually returned to the starting job six weeks later after Dalton was injured in a car accident, and he returned looked more like the quarterback prospect that earned his No. 1 overall pick status down the home stretch. To start the 2025 season, Young has showed some worrying signs of possible regression to pre-benching form, and that combined with the Panthers' 0-2 start makes Canales' seat quite a bit warmer.
4. Kevin Stefanski, Cleveland Browns
Stefanski and the Browns followed up a strong 2023 season – featuring an 11-6 record and playoff appearance – with a 3-14 campaign in 2024, tying for the league's worst record. This offseason, Stefanski had to navigate a messy quarterback situation featuring four different healthy signal-callers in a battle for the starting job. He eventually named veteran Joe Flacco the winner and has been rewarded with an 0-2 record, sinking his head coach record to 40-46, and an offensive EPA that ranks among the league's worst. If Cleveland has another losing season, it would be the fourth in Stefanski's six seasons.
3. Brian Daboll, New York Giants
The only things keeping Daboll from joining the ranks of the hottest tier on this list is his work developing rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart – results still TBD as Dart has yet to attempt a pass in the regular season – and the Giants' strong effort in an eventual overtime loss in Dallas last week. But Daboll is now 18-34-1 in three seasons (and two games) as the Giants' head coach after helping lead them to the playoffs in 2022. The end of the Daniel Jones era was a disaster, former defensive coordinator Wink Martindale reportedly stormed out of the Giants' building after a screaming match with Daboll before resigning, and team owner John Mara said he's "just about run out of patience" after last season. Make no mistake, Daboll's seat is quite hot, regardless of the leash he earned by drafting Dart.
Seat's on fire
2. Brian Callahan, Tennessee Titans
Callahan doesn't have the luxury of keeping his rookie quarterback shrouded in mystery. No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward debuted with his first start in Week 1, and early returns have been less-than promising. After a 3-14 2024 season, the Titans are 0-2 and the Ward-led offense is among the NFL's worst in points per game (15.5, 30th in the NFL) offensive EPA (-0.261, 31st) and yards per game (192.5, 32nd). Not great for an offensive-minded head coach who also calls the plays. Add in the fact that he didn't know the NFL's rules about what constituted a catch in his explanation to not challenge a play Week 1, and, yeah, Callahan's seat is red-hot.
1. Mike McDaniel, Miami Dolphins
Fans are already paying to fly banners above Hard Rock Stadium that call for McDaniel to be fired. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa grades out as PFF's 32nd of 34 quarterbacks so far this year, and the defense has allowed 33 points per game, the second-most of any team in the league. McDaniel's failure to make offensive adjustments after Tagovailoa's injury last year drew scrutiny, and his 0-3 start this year has done nothing to quell concerns.
