Lil Nas X has reportedly been hospitalized for a possible overdose after he allegedly assaulted a police officer.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to concerned reports of a naked man walking along Ventura Boulevard in Studio City at around 6 a.m. on Thursday morning. While the LAPD did not confirm the "Old Town Road" rapper's identity, TMZ released a video of him roaming the same street early that morning. The video depicts Lil Nas X in his underwear and cowboy boots, as he incoherently speaks to the person recording the video on their phone.
The suspect accused of assault was reportedly "nude in the street" and went on to "batter an officer, so he was booked for battery on a [peace officer]," a spokesperson for the LAPD told People.
TMZ also reported that officers told paramedics that the rapper had suffered a possible overdose before being transported to a nearby hospital. The LAPD, per People, was unable to confirm this information.
A representative for Lil Nas X did not immediately respond to Yahoo's request for comment.
Ahead of the incident, the 26-year-old made a slew of Instagram posts. On Wednesday, the rapper posted mirror selfies, piles of his belongings and his art. The posts featured music, which appeared to be unreleased Lil Nas X songs.
