Grimes and Anyma have split romantically but remain good friends and collaborators, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively
The pair confirmed their relationship on Instagram in March 2024
They previously collaborated on songs "Welcome to the Opera" and "Taratata"
Grimes and Anyma have put an end to their romantic relationship.
After more than a year of dating, a source confirmed to PEOPLE on Thursday, Aug. 21 that the pair of electronic musicians have parted ways.
"Anyma and Grimes have amicably parted ways but still remain good friends and collaborators," a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Still, the pair plans to "release new music together soon," the source adds.
Grimes, 37, whose real name is Claire Boucher, went Instagram official with Anyma, who's also 37, in March 2024. At the time, she shared loved-up photos against a colorful background.

She captioned the photo with Anyma (born Matteo Milleri), "Beauty and the Beast."
Before they debuted their relationship, the New York-born, Italian DJ and Grimes collaborated on her 2023 song "Welcome to the Opera" and again earlier this year on his song "Taratata."
Grimes previously had an on-again, off-again relationship with Elon Musk. They share three children. Anyma was previously married to Vittoria Ceretti, who's now dating Leonardo DiCaprio, from 2020 to 2023.
Anyma released his latest studio album, The End of Genesys, in May. Meanwhile, Grimes dropped her latest single, "idgaf," in February.

In January, Anyma performed at the Sphere in Las Vegas, featured Grimes as a guest and shared images in an Instagram photo dump, including a backstage couples shot.
He captioned the post, "A Quantum Romance" and tagged Grimes.
Meanwhile, after Grimes played Coachella Music Festival in April 2024, she shared a sweet selfie with Anyma backstage.
