<p>CBS is taking viewers of Beyond the Gates back where it all began with a repeat airing of the premiere week of the hit CBS soap opera. Now, Executive producer, Sheila Ducksworth, has taken to social media to share some fun behind the scenes photos and information about the creation of the series opening sequence.</p>
<p>Ducksworth posted some photos from that historic day on Instagram and captioned the post, "All this holiday week we're doing a Take 2 on Week 1 so that first time viewers may see where it all started and seasoned viewers😉 may experience the thrill of our historic launch all over again. UP TOP…Some BTS on our BTG opening: We shot our opening sequence during W2 of production. @juliehcarruthers and I divided and conquered @michelevaljean's brilliant premiere episode with me going on location, Julie powering through the stages, and Michele in office weaving our upcoming scripts. We had from sunup to sundown to capture all the scenework and establishing shots for our first half of S1. FUN FACT…Fairmont Crest is actually a combination of 2 country clubs 😉. Why? The homes needed to be spectacular and the Country Club needed to look Just.Like.This. After powering through 7 MD country clubs last summer (ok, sure, uninvited😂), the look was locked. The day was a series of hole-in-ones with @stvnwllfrd and @yorelfrancis' expert choreography of drones, golf carts, cars, joggers, dog walkers, and stunts; and @albert.dickerson.18 keeping it moving. And in post, I was inspired to set our amazing footage off with The Best of My Love. How fitting. Stay Tuned…#BeyondTheGates@beyondthegatescbs 📺📺🫧🫧🫧"</p>

<p>CBS officially describes Beyond the Gates as a soap opera that is "set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States; a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have "made it" and those who haven't are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others."</p>
<p>Beyond the Gates has a cast of over thirty contracted actors. The soap is anchored by the Dupree family, starring Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree), Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), and Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole Richardson), and their respective families.</p>

<p>Beyond The Gates is developed and produced by CBS Studios and the NAACP in partnership with P&G Studios a division of Procter and Gamble. The series is the groundbreaking first hour-long black soap opera to premiere in daytime. The creation is the brainchild of award-winning showrunner Michele Val Jean, in association with executive producer Sheila Ducksworth, and is the first new soap opera to premiere since NBC debuted Passions back in 1999.</p>
