A woman hosts her longtime college friend, who arrives with no toothbrush, a houseplant, and a chaotic sense of "quirky" energy

Over the weekend, the guest criticizes her home, rearranges her spices and books "by vibe," and uses her toothbrush

Pushed past her limit, the host calls her out for being a disrespectful guest — only to be labeled "uptight"

A woman seeks advice from the Reddit community after a weekend with her longtime friend took a turn for the bizarre.

In a since-deleted post, the 22-year-old shares that she and her pal have "been close since college, she's the kind of person who proudly says 'I'm not like other girls' and has strong opinions about oat milk. She's fun in small doses. Key word: small."

The weekend began innocently enough, with the friend — dubbed "Claire"— planning to stay two nights for a concert. However, things seemed off right away. "She shows up with ONE tiny tote bag, a plant (??), and no toothbrush," the poster writes, clearly bewildered by the travel choices.

Claire immediately made herself at home, kicking off her shoes and socks and sprawling across the couch. "She takes over my couch like it's a personal throne. Fine. Whatever. I'm flexible," the host recounts, trying to brush off the quirks.

But the eccentricities escalated as Claire opened the fridge and exclaimed, "You don't have pickles? What kind of life are you living?"

The host laughed it off, but the situation quickly spiraled. "She started 'quirkily' reorganizing my spice rack by 'vibes instead of function' and moved all my books by color," the poster continues. "She said it 'felt more aesthetically aligned with my energy.' Ma'am, the energy is chaos."

Despite the mounting chaos, the host tried to keep her cool until Sunday morning delivered the final straw. When she walked into the kitchen, she was stunned to find Claire using her toothbrush.

"When I called her out (nicely, at first), she just giggled and said, 'Don't be weird, I brush my teeth once a day, it's not that serious,'" the poster shares, her disbelief palpable.

That's when her patience ran out. "So I lost it. I told her flat out, 'You're not quirky. You're just a bad guest with boundary issues.' "

Claire, apparently shocked by the confrontation, packed up and left early. She later told mutual friends that the host was "aggressive" and "weirdly uptight."

Now, the poster is left questioning her own reaction, asking Reddit, "Was I too harsh? I honestly tried to be nice about it but like… come on. MY TOOTHBRUSH???"

The story struck a chord with commenters, one of whom suggested, "Tell your friends you were 'weirdly uptight' about her using your toothbrush."

The original poster responded with humor, "Right?? I should've said, 'Yeah, I'm weirdly uptight about mouth germs and not wanting to swap DNA over Colgate. So sorry for the inconvenience.' "

"Honestly though, who sees someone else's toothbrush and thinks 'perfect, that'll do!'" she concluded.
