A woman is "feeling really irritated" after her in-laws showed up at her house unannounced
In a post on Mumsnet, the woman revealed she was in her pajamas with unwashed hair and her children also weren't dressed when they arrived
"We were all happy doing our own thing and now I have to suddenly be 'on' as well as worrying about being judged for my hairy legs, etc," the woman said
A homeowner is questioning whether her frustration with unexpected house guests is justified.
The woman explained in a post on Mumsnet that she was "slobbing on the sofa" in her pajamas with unwashed hair when her father-in-law and brother-in-law showed up at her home without giving prior notice.
She said her children were also not dressed, and some areas of the house weren't as tidy as she'd like them to be before hosting guests.
"It was one of those really personal moments where I felt so comfortable just slobbing around with my own little family and we were all happy doing our own thing and now I have to suddenly be 'on' as well as worrying about being judged for my hairy legs, etc," she wrote, alongside a laughing emoji.

The woman confessed that the situation vexed her, but admitted that she was unsure if she was overreacting.
"Am I being unreasonable for feeling really irritated?" she asked. "I could very well be and will accept it if I am... It's not early in the morning, we're all pretty close and I get on with them very well, I just could have done with a heads up y'know?"
Responses to the post were divided, with several commenters arguing the woman's in-laws were "inconsiderate" for showing up unannounced.
However, other Mumsnet users claimed they wouldn't mind if anyone came to their house unexpectedly.
"YANU [you are not unreasonable]. I would be irritated too. It's very rude of them to just turn up unannounced like that," one person commented.

"YANBU [you are not being unreasonable], I don't like unexpected visitors," another wrote. "I don't mind if they are just calling for a reason and not expecting to come in, but my in-laws used to turn up unexpectedly and expect to stay for hours. It really annoyed me."
"I hate this. Fortunately, we live sooooo far away from family that they would have pre-arranged to come by, and friends don't do this as everyone understands and probably hates it too," a third chimed in. "So damn rude and I would have shown them how irritated I was."
Disagreeing, someone else said, "Think yourself lucky you have some guests. There are a lot of lonely people out there. They would swap with you in an instant."
"I don't think it's rude, all my family does this, and I do this to my family," another added. "If I were in my PJs, so what? I would just go and put the kettle on. We live in a small village and everyone just 'pops in.' "
