Christie Brinkley shared one surprising way she believes that many couples could save their marriages.

"You could get married, like, 'We'll see if you want to renew it in five years,'" Brinkley, 71, suggested on the Thursday, August 7, episode of the "Are You a Charlotte?" podcast. "Every five years, go, 'Do you want to renew?'"

The supermodel continued, "That way, if you're getting bored or whatever, you can get out of it without all the lawyers and all that stuff."

Brinkley is currently single, though she's been married four times over the years. Her first marriage was to Jean-François Allaux, whom she was married to from 1973 until 1981. Brinkley went on to be married to Billy Joelfrom 1985 to 1994, while she was married to Richard Taubman from 1994 to 1995. Her fourth and final marriage was to Peter Cook from 1996 to 2008.

Throughout her marriages, Brinkley welcomed daughter Alexa, 39, with Joel, 76, son Jack, 30, with Taubman, 77, and daughter Sailor, 27, with Cook, 66. Cook also adopted Jack after he and Brinkley wed in 1996.

Brinkley shared the suggestion after she made headlines for revealing that Sailor tried to get her on a dating app, which lasted for "an hour or something."

"I'm not on any kind of dating app like that, but my daughter Sailor, she's so mischievous," she said on the Monday, August 4, podcast episode of the podcast hosted by Kristin Davis.

She continued, "She said, 'Mom, you're right not to go on it because the same guys that said yes to me are saying yes to you.' I find that what men like to do is sort of find somebody that'll be impressed by every little thing that they do. Like, 'Oh, really? You're taking me to that restaurant?'"
