A Royal Caribbean cruise passenger fell over the glass railing of an infinity pool to retrieve his missing sunglasses during a recent sailing on Icon of the Seas.

The scary incident, which happened at the ship's Hideaway Pool, was documented in an Instagram post shared by Only in Florida on Sunday, July 27.

In the video, the man can be seen waving his right arm repeatedly as his upper body hangs over the edge of the glass railing.

He then lifts his legs up in the air and his weight shifts forward, causing him to fall completely over the edge and into the safety barrier that's attached to the edge of the pool. Onlookers can be heard shouting in the background as they watch the man fall.

A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean Group told PEOPLE in a statement: "A guest accidentally fell onto the pool gutter after reaching over to retrieve their sunglasses. Our crew immediately attended to the guest and fortunately the guest did not experience any injuries."

The cruise company did not confirm what day this incident occurred or where the ship was heading.

The Hideaway Pool is located in an adults-only portion of the ship on Deck 15. As seen in a video tour of the area shared by Royal Caribbean, there is a barrier built slightly below the railing of the pool with an additional glass railing attached.

According to the cruise company, it's the "first suspended pool at sea" and offers guests the ability to enjoy unobstructed views of the ocean.

Icon of the Seas is currently the largest cruise ship in the world, boasting 20 total decks and the ability to hold up to 7,600 guests. It embarked on its maiden voyage in January 2024.

A separate incident involving the death of a crew member on board Icon of the Seas occurred earlier this month.

On July 24, the crew member died after falling from the ship while it was sailing off the coast of the Bahamas.

A cruise line spokesperson confirmed the man's death to PEOPLE in a statement at the time, saying, "Our crew immediately initiated a search and rescue operation, but unfortunately the crew member passed away."
