<p>Heidi Klum responded to the backlash she faced after she posed in a lingerie ad with her daughter, Leni Klum.</p>
<p>Back in 2023, Heidi, 52, and Leni, 21, faced heat for posing in lingerie together in an ad for Intimissimi. While some people praised the mother-daughter duo, others found the ad to be inappropriate.</p>
<p>"A lot of people are like, 'Oh, I don't know about mom and daughter doing this together,'" Heidi told People in an interview published on Monday, July 28. "But for us? I'm proud of my daughter. She's fine with me like that."</p>
<p>The America's Got Talent star continued, "I've always been very open with my body. When I'm suntanning in the backyard, I might not have a top on. I'm European … my kids don't know me any other way and are probably more easygoing with their bodies because of it."</p>
<p>Heidi shares Leni with ex Flavio Briatore, and she was later adopted by the model's second husband, Seal. Meanwhile, she is also the mother to sons Johan, 18, and Henry, 19, whom she also shares with Seal, 62.</p>
<p>In addition to talking about the controversial ad, Heidi also opened up about her current marriage to husband Tom Kaulitz. The couple, who wed in 2019, have faced backlash for their 17-year age gap.</p>

<p>"When our door closes at home, I don't really care so much what happens around us," she told the outlet when reflecting on the backlash. "I've learned things from my husband that I didn't know I was capable of doing."</p>
<p>She added that meeting Kaulitz, 35, was "the sliding door moment" of her life.</p>
<p>"[At first] I wanted to [project] what I had learned from different men I had been with… like 'Ooh, this reminds me of something that happened, is that a flag?'" she admitted while discussing the baggage she had from previous relationships. "But Tom said, 'Don't do this to me, because I'm not this person, I'm not that person. Scratch everything. I have to have a fair chance.'"</p>
