<p>Piper Perabo teased a potential Coyote Ugly sequel 25 years after the original, while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend</p>
<p>The actress said "there has been some discussion about" a follow-up film, though kept mum about any further details</p>
<p>"I will say that people that were integral to making it are in communication about how to do something more," she said</p>
<p>Coyote Ugly fans can try to resist hopes for a sequel, but Piper Perabo is keeping the fire alive.</p>
<p>Nearly 25 years after the first movie hit theaters, the Butterfly star hinted at a potential follow-up while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.</p>
<p>"There's a lot of cooks in the kitchen right now, but things are moving around," said Perabo, 48, when asked about whether conversations are happening.</p>
<p>She also said that "some people" who initially didn't think a sequel was something audiences "need" have also had a change of heart, explaining, "They're like, 'Oh, well I wanna be in it.' "</p>

<p>The original Coyote Ugly follows Perabo's Violet Sanford, a woman in her 20s who dreams of making it big as a singer-songwriter but finds herself low on cash — until she discovers the titular New York City bar that changes her entire worldview (and wallet).</p>
<p>Starring alongside Perabo in the sexy musical dramedy were Maria Bello, Melanie Lynskey, Izabella Miko, Tyra Banks and Bridget Moynahan, plus Adam Garcia as Violet's love interest Kevin, and John Goodman as her dad Bill.</p>
<p>LeAnn Rimes — who sang several songs on the film's soundtrack, including the hits "Can't Fight the Moonlight," "The Right Kind of Wrong" and "But I Do Love You" — also made a cameo as herself near the end of Coyote Ugly.</p>
<p>Perabo told THR that "there has been some discussion about" a sequel, noting of any further details, "I can't really say, but people that were doing it are talking about some stuff."</p>
<p>When asked about the existence of a screenplay, the actress replied, "I will say that people that were integral to making it are in communication about how to do something more."</p>

<p>Back in In 2018, Banks, 51, announced that she was looking to make a sequel to the cult classic, even throwing out Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga and Meryl Streep as potential stars.</p>
<p>"I'm dying to do Coyote Ugly 2," she told PEOPLE. "I want to produce it — I just need to get the rights from Mr. Jerry Bruckheimer or work with him."</p>
<p>Banks gave an update on the project in October 2020, when she confirmed that a sequel was indeed in the works.</p>
<p>"I literally was supposed to be on a conference call today about bringing Coyote Ugly back," the former America's Next Top Model host said while appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show.</p>
<p>"We were supposed to be on a call today, and I'm talking to you and I can't talk to them," Banks added to host Kelly Clarkson. "Yes, we are talking about trying to do Coyote Ugly 2 or a series."</p>
