Ahead of his headlining set at Lollapalooza this weekend, country star Luke Combs took in the Chicago skyline this week from a very safe distance.

In a video shared by himself and the Skydeck at Willis Tower on Instagram, Combs visited the famous glass-floor observation boxes that stretch out 103 stories above downtown.

While his team stepped onto the platform without hesitation, the singer was unapologetically shaking in his boots.

"Here's the thing, I don't over promise," he said in the clip. "If I'm not gonna do something, I'll just tell you. Never one time when this has been brought up, never once have I been like, 'Oh, for sure I'm gonna do that.' Never one time. You know why? Because it's not gonna happen."

As his crew ventured onto the ledge, some even jumping for photos, Combs watched from a safer distance.

"I'm so excited to not go on that," he joked. "Dude, get a picture of me not going in it. I would much rather have an encounter with a grizzly bear."

The "Fast Car" singer even pitched his own souvenir idea: "I wish there was a sweatshirt that said, 'I bitched out of the Willis Tower.' I would for sure buy that."

Combs is headlining Lollapalooza on Thursday, but don't expect him to enjoy the view from 1,353 feet in the air.
