Two years after she and Elvis Presley divorced, Priscilla dated Robert in 1975
Priscilla Presley recalled a bittersweet memory about her ex Robert Kardashian.
In her second book, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, the actress and businesswoman recalled her relationship with the late attorney, whom she dated in 1975, two years after she and Elvis Presley divorced.
Priscilla, 80, reflected on her romance with Robert, which began shortly after her relationship with Mike Stone ended after three years because "his world was karate."
She met Robert through Joanie Esposito, who was seeing his brother Tom Kardashian (and later married him).
"Robert was a sweet man, and I liked him. But after a few months, I realized it wasn't going to work out," Priscilla writes in the book.
According to her, Robert's job was demanding and he worked long hours all week.
"By the time the weekend rolled around, all he wanted was a quiet night at home with popcorn and a good movie," she recalls.
While she was content with their dynamic at first, she eventually "grew restless" because she liked to be more "active."
Priscilla claims that Robert wanted to get married, but she was certain it wouldn't last — not to mention she wasn't ready to get married again.
But over the years, the pair remained friends.
Priscilla witnessed the "agony" he endured during the O.J. Simpson trial since Robert loved the late football player "like a brother."
Shortly before Robert died of esophageal cancer in 2003 at the age of 59, Kim Kardashian called her from the hospital, and the former couple were able to have "one last conversation" while he was on his deathbed.
"He was the kindest of men, and I remember him with great affection," she writes.

Elsewhere in the book, Priscilla recalled a time when Elvis — whom she married in 1967 and divorced in 1972 — called her after a performance at 2 a.m. unaware she was in bed with Robert.
According to Priscilla, it hadn't crossed his mind that she could have been sleeping.
"It had certainly never occurred to him that I might be with another man," she writes. "Despite our divorce, he still couldn't wrap his head around my being with someone else."
Priscilla claims he would have "gone ballistic, maybe literally, if he'd known Robert was in my bedroom."
"Elvis always carried a loaded gun, sometimes more than one," she adds.
Robert, however, never knew about the call because he was "a sound sleeper."
"I leaped out of bed and grabbed the phone before it woke him," she writes. "I tiptoed down the hall to the guest bedroom and shut the door to listen to the familiar voice."
