Barbara Eden exclusively tells PEOPLE that she and Elizabeth Montgomery did not have an ongoing feud while they starred on I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched, respectively
She explains that they only saw each other when getting their makeup done early in the morning on the Columbia Pictures lot
"We were not really Chatty Cathy at that time of the morning," she says
Barbara Eden continues to deny rumors that she and Elizabeth Montgomery were feuding while starring on their hit 1960s sitcoms.
The I Dream of Jeannie star, 94, recently revealed that she and the late Bewitched star did not have a tense relationship as both of their sitcoms filmed on the Columbia Pictures lot together throughout the late '60s.
"Remember, the only time we saw each other was at 6:00 in the morning," Eden explains. "So we were not really Chatty Cathy at that time of the morning, at least I'm not. It was hello, goodbye. It's good to see you. Things like that."
Notably, both women led their successful sitcoms; Eden starred as Jeannie in the NBC series "I Dream of Jeannie," which ran from 1965 to 1970. Larry Hagman, Bill Daily and Hayden Rorke rounded out the cast. During her five seasons, the actress earned two Golden Globe Award nominations.
Montgomery also starred as a magical lead and portrayed Samantha Stephens on the television series Bewitched. The ABC sitcom ran for eight seasons from 1964 to 1972. She starred alongside Dick York, Dick Sargent, Agnes Moorehead and David White.
The late actress was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards. Montgomery died of cancer in 1995. She was 62. She never publicly addressed the rumored feud.

Eden also said in a Saturday, Sept. 13, Fox News Digital interview, that she "enjoyed being with" Montgomery. "We did not have a lot of time to talk or be girlfriends," she explained, noting that they were only together in the mornings when they were both in the makeup department. "We had to get to work. But she was always pleasant."
This isn't Eden's first time shutting those decades-old rumors. In 2013, she was featured in the Bewitched 60th Anniversary Special, and said that they "chatted a lot," adding, "If there was any perceived rivalry, it was the producers' invention."
"We were both pregnant together," she also shared. "We both had our babies around the same time." Eden welcomed son Matthew Ansara in August 1965 with ex-husband Michael Ansara. Matthew died in 2001 at age 35.
Montgomery also welcomed her second son, Robert, in 1965. She also had a son, William, in 1964 and a daughter, Rebecca, in 1969; she shared all three with ex-husband William Asher.
