<p>On Wednesday, July 16, Amazon MGM Studios released a trailer for After the Hunt, from Challengers director Luca Guadagnino. The movie stars Roberts, 57, as a college professor who must navigate a serious accusation from a student named Maggie (played by Ayo Edebiri) against a professor at the college named Hank (Andrew Garfield).</p>
<p>As Amazon MGM Studios' newly released trailer shows, Maggie approaches Roberts' character to accuse Hank of assault, saying, "He crossed the line," kicking off a tense atmosphere on the college's campus as professors doubt the authenticity of Maggie's story and Roberts' character deals with a secretive past.</p>
<p>An official synopsis for the film describes After The Hunt as "a gripping psychological drama about a college professor (Julia Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Ayo Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Andrew Garfield), and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light."</p>

<p>Written by actress and filmmaker Nora Garrett, After the Hunt explores the thorny potential of intergenerational conflict in the era of the #MeToo movement. The trailer opens with what appears to be a friendly debate among the college's colleagues about the younger generation's fear of "offending someone" before diving into the central conflict between Maggie and Hank.</p>

<p>Edebiri, 29, said the movie is built to be seen "with other people, to talk about and discuss and just feel."</p>
<p>After the Hunt, which costars Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny, is in theaters Oct. 10.</p>
