On April 9, Netflix premiered its three-part docuseries Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing, which exposes Piper Rockelle's infamous "Squad" led by her mother, Tiffany Smith.A group of 11 teens filed a complaint against Smith in 2022, alleging that she abused the teen content creators with whom she and Rockelle collaborated. The lawsuit was settled in October 2024.Three of the plaintiffs and their lawyer spoke to PEOPLE about how they expect Bad Influence will shape social media usage for generations of minors to come.
