Emergency responders rushed to the unnamed lodge in Creel, in the state of Chihuahua,& but could not save her.
The lady's husband, described regionally as Irish, was reportedly the one to call for assist and a translator assisted police on the scene.
The lady is 75 and her husband is 79, local media stories.
No details about a potential reason for dying has been made public and a autopsy will quickly happen, studies say.
The small mountain town of Creel – situated some 175km, or a 3.5-hour drive to the southwest of the state capital Chihuahua City – is surrounded by a patchwork of rugged canyons.
It is thought-about the gateway to Mexico's Copper Canyon, one of the wildest and most lovely areas within the nation.
Traditionally a logging city, tourism is now Creel's major business.
One of many regional points of interest is El Chepe practice – the only practice for travellers from Mexico, masking majestic landscapes across the Copper Canyon.
